Probably 7+ Gen 3, would be interesting to see real world performance once implemented into later devices.
Let's hope that this goes well.

IpsDisplay, 04 Feb 2024Can you believe in 2024 there are people that say "... moreModem, dedicated accelerators, ISP those are all still better on flagship SoCs generally. The statement is not outdated because a SoC consists of more than just CPU and GPU. And GPU actually is still better most of the time it‘s really just CPU where those newer mid range chips are closing in without actually matching the flagship chip.

Sounds good for devices at maybe less than $400 in 2024/2025.

Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 confirmed! They won't position this in between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 8 Gen 3 because its GPU will certainly be inferior to the 8 Gen 2. If they were to make a middleground of 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3, then that one would have to have a GPU that's faster than 8 Gen 2 but weaker than 8 Gen 3.
This will be a direct competitor to the Dimensity 8300, but for me, Qualcomm already won against it with this if they just do this SoC right, because the Dimensity 8300 was considered a "flagship" SoC but didn't have a proper Cortex X-core for its CPU, and instead, had overclocked A720's instead. It didn't even beat the 7+ Gen 2's single-core performance due to that, so this one will just widen the gap even further.

Perhaps this chipset is in the iqoo Neo 9 pro that is launching in India, it would make sense since it also supposedly has an antutu score of over 1.7 mil, which seems a bit too high imo.

rizki1, 04 Feb 2024They are up against the D8300 which was made popular by the... moreYup, this is also what I would guess, exclusive to the POCO F6. Same as the 7+Gen 2 was basically exclusive to the POCO F5 (I can hardly think in the Realme phone that also got it and never sold outside China).

They are up against the D8300 which was made popular by the Poco X6 Pro. Maybe this latest Snapdragon will be used and only on the Poco F6.

As if SoC names aren't confusing enough, adding a lite variant would be an awful idea.

Just look at pixel, when they announce 8a, ppl will be able to find 8 for $500. Just $50-70 difference, when 8 is far better than 8a.
S24 will be barely more expensive when samsung announces A56, that is inferior phone.

Can you believe in 2024 there are people that say
"Buy last year's flagship because last year's flagship soc is better than this year's midrange soc"
How out of touch those guys are when we are increasingly getting upper midranger soc in BOTH CPU AND GPU that are equivalent to last year's top SOC
From BOTH Qualcomm and mediatek!!
Sure buy an older flagship nothing is wrong with them they are a smart purchase too but using this arguement above is OUTDATED use any other reason but this one
