The parts are all still the same but not all parts coming off the assembly line perform exactly the same. Same thing happens in the PC world, but no outrage coming to windows pc's only Apple's lol

Their business model have always been the-emperors-new-clothes.
And that is just fine with me - to each their own.

Even if it WAS true that it was top shelf stuff that was used, the big question would be if those were worth the extra cost, when most people upgrade their device about every three years anyway?

There really are no need to use the top shelf stuff like when you build a satellite for something as simple as a phone, it is not that they need to reduce the risk of failure at almost all costs.

If they really DID use top materials, we would see sapphire over displays for a start, and not glass on both front on back, that is most likely put there in the HOPE it will beak quickly, and people buy another, or pay for an expensive repair.

Yea, they got very smug about their 2021 year but it's 2024; 3 years later. Samsung, Xiaomi and OnePlus (I think) and others are catching up. Their A17 Pro miracle GPU? Easily wiped by D9300 Immortalis. Their camera prowess? Wiped by Pixel 8 Pro and S23U. Think about it. Every aspect of the iPhone and Android are catching up or doing it better, at the same or lower cost.

OnePlus 12R and Redmi K70 are prime examples of this, while being under 550USD. Both phones have up to 4000 NITS of brightness, OLED displays, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, fast but a year older flagship processors and good cameras to top it all off. Apple sheep is just paying for the package + the OS. Google makes heaps of money from developers using Android.

And everything that makes iphones better buys is getting competed with. Their processors aren't the uncontested best any more, their software has gotten more buggy and it isn't as smooth as it used to be, and other companies have caught up massively for cameras and battery life too. More and more people are leaving apple every year.

Does PWM issue is solved in this display tech or... Not ?

I bet that this is the first time in history the company "Apple" and "reasonable price" appear in the same sentence without some negation....

              O;-)

DDR4 16GB RAM is 40-45 USD. No way your telling me that just because it's unified, its worth dropping 200 dollars.

Another attempt is 60hz on the vanilla iPhones. I don't care how "smooth" or that it's "fine", phones half the price of the iPhone 15 literally have 120hz as well as LTPO (around 500 dollar mark, OnePlus 12R).

Moreover, Apple is losing its edge in SoC performance. Take a look at this comparison against A17P and D9300 (https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/mediatek-dimensity-9300-vs-apple-a17-pro). D9300 and A17P do very similar in GB6 but D9300 gets the edge in the multi core test. People can't really use the "Android phones are slow" argument anymore. If companies can optimize their OS, then phones can show their true prowess

They sell these watches at 500+ but wouldn't dare spend a chunk of that on a better screen. Think about that. This is how you get to become the richest company, sell with extortionate profit margins to braindead consumers
