Next iPhone SE to feature Dynamic Island, rumor claims

Apple just needs to re-release the 12 mini with single camera and A16
That way the SE will get a decent upgrade while the price can stay low enough for a beginner to move to iOS
An SE above $500 makes no sense because then it will compete with older mainline iPhones and people will just pick older iPhones over the SE, since they have bigger display and more cameras for almost the same price

Feel like they should just call it iPhone 15 mini because to me, because they modelled it after the older iPhones, the "Special Edition" part of the name made more sense

I wish they use IP 12/13 "Mini" size to differentiate and not cannibalize the other model / tiers. Also that way some people that like small form have that option. Maybe "SE" = "Smaller Edition" this time?
I might get back to Apple if this will happen, but probably not as Apple only care about sales and minis dont make them rich - sad fact lol

Mills, 09 Feb 2024I know keklivesmatter will defend anything bad about Apple.... moreSE is about using old shells and design, but give credit to Apple, they never use an old SoC.
First SE gets the A9, the same as the flagship 6s at that time. 2020 SE gets A13, again the same SoC as the iPhone 11, the flagship at that time. 2022 SE gets A15, again, the same as iPhone 13, the flagship at that time. Give credit where it's due.
If 2025 is the release year, this SE will be using the A18.

What I like about SE is that it got its home button + no notch... Looks like SE it's pretty dead to me then

Neat. But I'll bet it won't be out till 2025. By 2025, the only iPhone with a notch will be the iPhone 14. 15 and 16 will be dynamic island. Thus having an SE at the low end with dynamic island won't be too jarring. Besides, the 17 Pro is rumored to have under display FaceID, so by late 2025, the pill look will be "old" already.
A18, 8GB RAM, 48MP single camera, 128GB, $499. It will be flying off the shelves.

I like it. I still have the first SE and the SE 2022 with me, along with my 11-15 Promax. LOL

Not to praise Apple (they don't deserve it) but more cheaper (and below) should go the one camera route.
Rather have one really good camera on a Android phone than 1 meh and 2 or 3 crap ones.
0.08mpx camera on the cheap Xiaomi A2 phones being proof of that sadly.

Special Edition doesn't mean good or the best, that is a misconception of most people.
Same thing with Fan Edition not automatically being what the fans want (S23 FE being a excellent example of that)

I know keklivesmatter will defend anything bad about Apple. true or false, but I really did not like SE2 and SE3.
It was basically Apples attempt at a Galaxy FE-like formula. Older chipset, same/recycled design, worse but still good cameras and so on. All the SE3 had going for it was the A15 chipset, 5G and the price, 429 USD. But the cons was the terrible battery life, the small display (750p), one singular wide camera, no OLED and to top it all off, it had no Ceramic Shield. Just Corning Ion-strengthened glass. I will partially dismiss the Ceramic Shield one but still, it'd be nice to have something.
I hope Apple does better with the SE4. I'm not expecting their Super Retina XDR OLED or whatever, but standard OLED with HDR10 is fine. OLED is getting very cheap to make. Even the Galaxy A15 has it (200 USD if I remember correctly). The larger battery is welcome and so is 1080p. What Apple does need to add/fix is to add TWO cameras. A wide camera and an ultrawide.
I'm being hard on Apple because I know they can do better but don't want to. Like 60hz on vanilla iPhones. Their software is alright but still restrictive (not open-source and no developer mode). If Apple does actually go through with my formula, this can be a decent phone, replacing the iPhone 13 as a older flagship with new midrange.

So for someone who doesn't really care about cameras, why would you get iPhone 15 then besides this? They'll probably keep the notch, which design i don't know but there's no logic in getting dynamic island on an SE iPhone.
