Ouifuf, 12 Feb 2024Weird because people on the oneplus subreddit are showing t... moreIt's possible that it is market dependent. In Mexico Oneplus decided to take off the charger from the box of the new 1+ 12. It is very very weird how they're handling the specs info. (There's a possibility that trinity engine is just a miraculous software addition that boosts memory speed to something as fast as ufs 4.0, which I don't think it so)

This company decided to capitalize on sleeping people and the diehard zombies. Shame.

Oh so it gets from bad to worse for oneplus12r.
Terrible price, bad CPU implementation, and now going back to UFS 3.1 from 2020. For 750Euros.. I knew i chose the right smartphone, the POCOX6 PRO for less than 400 euros , a 512GB of UFS4 instead of just 256gb of crappy UFS3.1.
OnePlus was once a flagship killer2015-2018, today a flagship garbage.

New phone, but old hardware? Yeah, another reason to stay away from oppoplus.

          What about oneplus ace 3??

            1+ 12R UFS3.1 : R: 1700MB/s, W: 900-1600MB/s

            1+ 12 UFS4.0: R: R: 3500MB/s, W: 3300MB/s

So, double the speed on 12 vs 12R.

It reminds me the ultrasonic FP in nothing phone 1 at launch then they ditched to optical one on future production.

OnePlus probably have multiple sources for the 2nd tier NAND storage chips. Some of them might be UFS4, but some are UFS3.1 compliant. So they decided to just announce UFS3.1 in case some users found out and sue them. Those who actually got UFS4 speed are simply lucky ones.

That's not much of a big deal. 3.1 is still quite fast

UFS 4.0 is different than UFS 3.1 The trinity engine is just marketing words for software optimization. You can't make a black cat white with trinity engine.

When they say certified to remain "fluent" they really mean "fluid" right? Fluent makes no sense in this context. Clearly they're using AI for translation services as well.

In India, 256GB is the only variant they promoted and advertised to be 4.0 version, it doesn't seem to be a 'mistake' due to Trinity Engine. Not sure how are they going to justify the additional ₹1k pricing of 12R 256GB (₹46k) compared to 11R 256GB (₹45k).
It is never a mistake by them, but a FALSE/MISLEADING info!

It is very disappointing to see these brands mislead customers like this. They should compensate all the buyers.

Weird because people on the oneplus subreddit are showing that their 12Rs have UFS 4.0 speeds. It's probably a region dependent thing which sucks.

                                  It wasn't a mishap.
                                  It was intentional.
This is how Chinese brands operate.

OEMs introduce uncommon storage features and make claims of holding apps for 72hrs..

Guess what reviews are gonna do

Remain the same generic way forever and don't test these claims
