My point is still valid, mirrorless cameras represent a step beyond what many average consumers want to take regarding photos and video. And it’s going to be several steps beyond in terms of cost. And don’t forget smartphone pictures can also be stored on SSD drives.

Apple drive is to make you purchase the top tier phone, the Pro Max
In order to do this it has restricted by battery on the Pros so whilst the Pro Max gets 120 is battery endurance the Pros are in a "choke hold" pattern
The standard iPhone are also a year behind in SoC
This is for me the most obvious, that the Pro price is so much more than the standard iPhone further demonstrates this is no accident there should be a progression from base mode to top tier.
For Apple iPhone users if the rumours materialise 2024 is going to be a good year for them, I have no insider knowledge however there are external and coexisting issues that need to change for those rumours to manifest

If anyone like to save their important files, photos, videos etc. then they should prefer SD cards, SSD etc.
Long term solution.
Others will just shuffle their devices and use cloud storages etc.

Too bad newer android phones lost that microSD slot. We'd have have 2tb storage options last year.
