Whether you like it or not you cant do anything to make said apps better to protect small childrens because anybody clever enough will find its way and detour this and skip.

By now everyone knows EU is making themselves a big joke by doing this kinds of investigation only towards Tiktok and not towards facebook, Youtube, Instagram, which... also does the same and since many users reuploaded Tiktok videos on those platforms, the other platforms should also have been treated the same, and yet they didn't. Thus, everyone knows the main motif is not to protect minors, but just a prejudice towards succesful Chinese companies.

We all know this is just anti-china bs and has nothing to do with protecting children. If they really wanted to protect minors they would start with Instagram because that's scientifically proven to be the worst social media for minors' mental health.
A second aspect is that I think a lot of politicians are scared of TikTok because it's a lot less biased than other platforms so it's not as easy as Meta/Facebook to control.

A bit weird, since every time you read independent review and analysis of these services, TikTok takes much greater responsibility than WhatsApp, Facebook, SnapChat etc.

Investigate parents. Same tiktok videos are everywhere in yt and insta uploaded by users. There are tiktok video downloaders too.
Why would tiktok have obligation to protect minors? Is this some kind of "billion dollars joke".

All of this age restriction and so on is just dumb. As long as there is no AI that can proof that the user is not over the age then all of it is useless.
I always troll these back that ask your age so i set my self to be something 80 years old or something. Like why ask the age in the first place if you dont need to proof it in any way and also the apps or sites cant really check your real age.
Some games ask your age so they will restrict you from some content that have no reason to be age restricted anyways so i think all the kids who set there real age in there are just dumb

Tiktok is where they c... moreHonestly, the moment that tiktok's short videos became popular, facebook and youtube did the same and many people said that tiktok is the one who copied. What an ignorance. I also agree that the Chinese version of tiktok is filled with educational content like math tricks, science and programming tutorials as I think the Chinese Government wants its children to learn while the global version is filled with bullcraps. Honestly, if EU wants to protect minors then maybe they could ask their parents to have more responsibility on monitoring their kids instead of blaming all in the app itself. Finally, if they want to charge tiktok, then maybe they could charge facebook, and instagram.
