What I see as a non-EU citizen is that EU is jealous about other regions. EU's constantly seeking to impose fines on successful companies that EU doesn't have or tariffs on areas EU doesn't excel.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2024Keep seeing stuff about this TikTok thing but no idea what ... moreHave you seen YT Shorts or FB Reels? Tiktok is where they copied those. Beware, you might end up like my relatives who can no longer sit down and watch a full lenght movie if you use these kinds of short videos. xD

The Chinese version is filled with educational content while Global is full of scantily clothed twerk-ing girls. But it's just probably a reflection of what their respective audience want to see.

Clever people will always find way how to skip it.
Setting your phone without setting face ID is so easy.
Once you set you have an age of 25-60 noone will known and no phone will bother you with age restricted things. Even a 7 years old kid clever enough can do this.
Whether you believe me or not in world lives some childrens with IQ of 200+ and dont even have age of 6.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2024Should just be 6% of EU turnover. I don't know why EU ... moreFear sir and how you want to prevent it.
Give a kid new phone and if he or she manages to set own google account claiming she is 40 years old for example phone does not recognize whether its true or not.
Same works with other phones and apps.
Once google account is set for 21 nobody will do anything.
Even in my area lives some super clever kids under age of 7-10 which can blame the phone within few seconds and make it stupid fool and able to look at any and every content they want. Nobody can do anything.
        Said restrictions will not work.

Its like for example a police tops you on highway or driving hme from work and if they have a bad day or just trying to get as much money for government as possible they will prosecute you, all your passengers and whole car from top to bottom untill they find all, any and every possibility to give you a fine even if it will be for something tottaly irelevant.
At least in Slovakia it works this way.

No matter what you say or do you get the fine in worse scenario gets arrested for not cooperating with them.

Make the age limit to 18 and face recognition through ai monthly to identify the user. Every apple user is identified by their face already.

Parents will hold everyone but themselves responsible for their stupidity

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2024Should just be 6% of EU turnover. I don't know why EU ... moreLet's be honest, the EU only exists because it is a cluster of countries that if they were separated would not be good for business and they use this "union" to demonstrate "strength", which is why they think they are entitled to 6% of everything, in addition Furthermore, it is practically impossible to prevent a child from seeing something, there are a lot of parents who simply put the smartphone in the child's hand and go do something else.

You'll have to open it against any social network and email in the world or start demanding identity to open an account, which would be pretty stupid, but okay, what can you expect from EU jokes.

Should just be 6% of EU turnover. I don't know why EU thinks it's entitled to earnings from the rest of the world.

Anyway, social media platforms are mostly used by kids but kids should be restricted from viewing certain content. I always thought tiktok content was more tame compared to what you can find on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or Instagram.
