Mills, 20 Feb 2024"...for Nothing over Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets like... moreThe 782G is based on TSMC's 6nm node, the 7s Gen 2 is based on Samsung's 4nm node, while the 7200 (with or without the suffixes) uses TSMC's 4nm node. So the decision was reasonable, actually.

Darth Caesium, 20 Feb 20247s Gen 2 is actually not on TSMC, so this works out. That... moreDunno man. I have the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and the 7s Gen 2 inside has been excellent in efficiency/battery life. I had the 12 Pro 5G before and I was never satisfied in this aspect, and that one had the Dimensity 1080 (TSMC 6nm).
There's also the 7 Gen 3 they could have used if TSMC was actually the issue, which I don't think it was, because the 782G is also made at TSMC.

Mills, 20 Feb 2024"...for Nothing over Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets like... more7s Gen 2 is actually not on TSMC, so this works out. That's the problem, nothing new from Qualcomm outside of their flagship chips uses TSMC. It's all Samsung nodes that have terrible power efficiency.

Madmallu, 20 Feb 2024Why you need custom rom when the nothing os is stock one?? ... moreMaybe they want to get rid of telemetry or have system-wide adblocking? Or they're a hobbyist who just likes to tinker with their system? Regardless of anyone's intentions, there is no good reason to bar them from tinkering with their device as they wish.
