In every segment they are competing with other smartphone manufactureres not canon and nikon. And about iPhone 5 and S4 they have 8 and 13 mp snappers compared to 41 mp snesor and then PureView technology on top of that.

Nokia is still alive. They sold off almost everything under the sun and fired most people. As for their dinosaur aged technology which bangs of camera and music... this phone is for "Buy and throw away" phone

jeyytm, 06 Jun 2013So Nokia is focusing on Camera. Are they competing now with... morevery easily. what do ip5 and s4 do more than a lumia? ok, got it, going for a lumia.
it's true nokia's becoming danger for canon and nikon, because when having great camera on phone you lose the need of having a profesional cam with you

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2013Nothing beats a dslr camera, with interchangeable lens. ... moreActually, the sensor in 808 PureView which is inside EOS as well, over-sample photos to high MegaPixels.

AnonD-152714, 06 Jun 2013Oh, I'm sorry mr nokia police but you would like it too whe... moreIs it just me or I am constantly watching you calling a "Nokia fanboy/police" who ever is replying to you? From your first comment, all I see is you criticizing and noting else. It's alright, in your view, it's ugly but repeating only one thing sounds a bit of a other brand fanboy right? On and if you have all of sudden included other brands in a single post just as intentions to let every one know you are not a fanboy which is I don't believe, the truth.
Even though I am a Nokia fan not a fanboy but if I don't like a brand's design or other stuff, I just don't spam that specific article like you did with the repeated story. So if it's that much ugly and you don't like it then why not just leave from this article?

AnonD-152714, 06 Jun 2013nokia fans been hating on samsung's plastic while they use ... moreNokia fans actually do criticize on Samsung's plastic. But why they do that, when both are made of the same polycarbonate?
Nokia use the highest grade of polycarbonate material in their Mobiles while Samsung doesn't use that much of high class because it will only do is increasing production cost. They have done quiet a wonderful balance between their cost of production as the flagship of Samsung currently holds many features and if they would be using high grade polycarbonate, then their cost will increase resulting the phone with 16GB of memory would be available for around 700$.
So to subside it, they have used many features in it with B grade or I think C grade polycarbonate.
That's the story behind it.

AnonD-43988, 06 Jun 2013Finally THE MOBILE CAMERA comes to a proper smartphone! ... more"As for its circular shape, it's possible that we may see attachable lens add-ons for even awesomer photography" - that's why I think also they chosed this shape, although I like Nokia's designs but I agree with all the fandroids(a first:) and this is coming from a 808 user) saying this is not too prety, the back of 808 blends nicer with the overall design but that's me, maybe I'm too subjective:)...

That's it! 20 Mpix folks (XX)!
Looks that was not possible to put the 41 Mpix sensor without getting the phone too thick like the 808...
I think it's an SOC related limitation.
Or it could simply be a WP8 limit...

A square shaped camera would have looked better. IF the specs are up to date, then this is the real deal.
