One thing is for sure, whatever cons having this phone, it will find a lot of interest from everyone and will be sold at least fifty times more than Nokia N8 and Pv808 together. Not bad

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2013as always you look the wrong way, if you paid attention to ... moreSo let me guess. You don't care paying in December for a two generations ago CPU phone (1.2 GHz Cortex-A7, 720p screen, Adreno 305, 1GB of Ram) with only old apps available for it, the same price(due to the more expensive camera) others will pay for 2.3GHz Krait CPU, 1080p screen, 2GB of RAM, phones? Well, be my guest, it's your money! :)

GSMA should create Lumia EOS in the Rumor Mill for Nokia. I think they have enough information to create this rumor. :D

AnonD-134497, 06 Jun 2013I still remember when HTC Droid DNA came out with 1080P dis... more"logic" and "fanboys" don't go together:), the same happened with sony X Z, ohh, ohh...that's a gimmick, we don't want water proof but now we'll buy one since it's available for our favourite OEM, same went with Nokia's wireless charging and so on...I don't get it why it is so hard to acknowledge innovation regarding OEM(some innovate more than others:)) when it's the case and when it clearly makes a difference, not just opening angry birds 1 second faster(but then compensating through lag:))

i hope this time nokia goes after ios sales.until now it has been selling at the cost of blackberry.after the 920,it is the second wp device thats bound to attract traction.and yes,its definitely better of the two.i guess this will push wp boundaries into android and ios realms.

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2013Give android 1 or 2 years. If they do not fix the lag, wp8 ... moreProbably a paid comment. I never had lag on my SGS3. Lag on Android is history. Anyway, people have a choice, old CPUs Nokia bulky phones with no lag and no apps, or a decent slim Android phone with no lag(plenty of Jellybean Vanilla phones are available now, if you are afraid of OEM launchers) with all the apps you need, for the same price.

AnonD-80553, 06 Jun 2013The no.1 feature prioritized by people on their smartphone ... moreI saw you plan to buy a Sony RX-100 camera. Good camera, but I would recommend you a Nex-5R or 6 instead. The sensor is the same as on the RX, but you can use replaceable lenses. The Sony lenses for them are pretty cheap, and quite good quality.

Give android 1 or 2 years. If they do not fix the lag, wp8 will overtake them.

wtever thngs u say guys say it but to me and all nokia/camera lovers are going to get this sweet piece of cake which is worth years of technology/research and development.. whatever that is that they serve us on the table is surely going to be better than the taste of nokia 808, or maybe even close :) but this is all good stuff legend, things to brag about and feel good about :) number of cores is just a number as long as it does what is has to what we want, screen will be good maybe even - PureMotion HD2 ClearBlack. they will launch this phone with innovations..

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2013as always you look the wrong way, if you paid attention to ... moreI still remember when HTC Droid DNA came out with 1080P display, how much these same fanboys complained and criticize about it and called it a gimmick. All of sudden, when this feature came to their brand, they praise it like the best innovation. Never understand the logic of fanboys calling things gimmick which later-on, if found in their favorite brands, they term it as 'innovation is at it's best'

X, 06 Jun 2013Qualcomm only announced the Snapdragon 400 for WP phones. I... moreDuh! you didn't read my post properly. You sure, "lower mid-range" phones will be holding a Snapdragon chipset inside them? Think again... My intentions in replying to your trollism is that to tell you "this chipset is designed for lower mid-range phones" NOT for high-end phones which you still are comparing now....
Reread my post

AnonD-134497, 06 Jun 2013Let me guess, you are only trolling around without reading ... moreQualcomm only announced the Snapdragon 400 for WP phones. If you know of an announcement that they will provide a better CPU for WP, put here the link. Anyway, as you notice, Snapdragon 400 WILL HAVE 4 Cortex-A7 cores(with Adreno 305), at 1.2 GHz while the Snapdragon 600 has 4 Krait cores(with Adreno 320), at 1.7 GHz. See below the difference:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snapdragon_(system_on_chip)
By the time the S400 WP phones will be released, the others will have the S800 phones with 2.3 GHz quad core Krait, Adreno 330. Pretty bad, huh?

AnonD-50083, 06 Jun 2013Just the number of comments something like this created is ... moreJust 12 hours have been passed and number is nearly around 300. Amazed me, most of the comments here are people who I saw in Android articles as they are praising them. Half of them showing maturity and giving credits to Nokia for what they had done here i.e. packed such a big sensor in a small body. Technology is at it's best while others are just trolling/hating around as you can see...

jeyytm, 06 Jun 2013So Nokia is focusing on Camera. Are they competing now with... moreThe no.1 feature prioritized by people on their smartphone is camera. Individual studies have shown this.
Second to that is social networking possibilites, texting, battery and such.
In other words, this phone is right on the money.
Only thing is people often loose focus, and buys whatever the seller, or a techy friend tells them, neither one of them thinking about this average Joe's real needs. High-end quad-cores and 2GB RAM makes sense for high-end phone gamers, and most people really does not fit into that category - not even me. I play fps games on console and PC. This because gaming, other than your basic and intuitive touch games (angry birds and so on which just about all phones can run), still doesn't fare well with touch interface - nor the small screens.
Games like dead trigger, temple run, mini motor racing, dragon slayer and many others can be played on anchient top models with HW like you find in todays mid-rangers and even budget models. But most people play non-graphic-intensive games such as The Simpsons Tapped out, The Sims freeplay and similar anyhow.
Not just this phone, but eventually all phones should perform better than todays compact cameras with 1/1.7" - or maybe even 1/1.6" sensors - and smaller. Many compacts today still uses measly 1/2.3" sensors. Heck, the sensor in the 808 Pureview (1/1.2") is larger than the one in Fujifilm's awardwinning X10 (2/3"). Not that sensor size means everything, but a lot.
Right now I'm about to purchase a Sony RX100 compact, beacuse there simply isn't a phone with a good enough camera - running my prefered OS (Android [- on a Motorola]). I'm hoping Moto X will change this, as there has been some chatter on Motorola working on new camera tech for a while now.
If I wasn't such a Motorola fanboy, and Nokia started to copy either Motorola or Sony design, I would definetly consider one if it featured a proper Pureview camera.
Here's to hoping the final version will not be made of plastic and feature a proper lens cover. If it really is 9.7mm thick, then it will be really impressive IF they've fitted the same sensor as in the 808.

Just the number of comments something like this created is enough to show Nokia is making enough noise for themselves AND the platform!
