21 February 2024
Apple used a specific charging test which involved charging and discharging the battery 1,000 times under specific conditions that would simulate real-world use cases.

Then again, I don't expect much from someone whose only reply to reasonable arguments is "stop crying", altough that's because you had no arguments in the first place.

And you won’t find me suggesting Apple is now ahead on this front, I know they are not. This is still a little bit of good news for me as a user of the 15 Pro Max.

Relevant, or not, this is a comment section on the internet, it's just people having simple conversations. Altough I think they are relevant, as without mentioning any, this would just seem like Apple is now ahead, I mean this is a big jump.. for them, but they aren't.

Look man, I understand where you are coming from, and as much as I love my chinese phones and wouldn't want an iPhone instead, there is no doubt they take some and other things from Apple, but in terms of battery HEALTH and charging they are behind, which is weird considering how far ahead they are in battery LIFE.

However I completely agree with the last part of your sentence, this topic shouldn't have become all about them, and it's unfortunate that it did.

DarlingYext, 23 Feb 2024"..I’d say go look it up yourself, but you in fact gav... moreLook at the context though. This wasn’t Apple standing on stage, talking millions across the world about how they innovated on and ‘re-invented’ smartphone battery technology. Neither is it them ‘boasting ‘ as that comment incorrectly insinuated.

No this is a couple of lines on a support page related to a rather minor software update, 5 months after the product in question launched. This is about as understated as you can get for a tech company, this is Apple neither bragging nor boasting. It’s more of a ‘oh by the way….’ Type of announcement to existing customers.

So again how exactly are Chinese brands and whatever they are up to relevant in any way here, and why should this particular article become all about them ?

I also commented something like that, and to that my opinion is something someone has already commented here. This:

"Their point is that Apple is very behind in battery technology and innovation, compared to many other manufacturers. While this is good news, it's incredibly late in comparison to the rest of the market."

DarlingYext, 23 Feb 2024"What is with you all and this incessant need to try t... moreSure, I’ll go along with some of that, and I am not fan of anybody who tries to make others feel bad about their choices, especially on something as unimportant (in the grand scheme of things) as which smartphone they use. I also don’t like people who assume the financial means of others, more than anything else it suggests an insecurity on their own part.

I think you’ll find though, it wasn’t long into this particular comment section before someone chimed in with the usual ‘yeah but [insert brand name here] does it better….’ Type of comment. In fact I’m sure of it, because it began with the second comment posted, I’d say go look it up yourself, but you in fact gave that very comment a thumbs up.

And that is what tends to happen on Apple related articles on this site, they get high jacked by this kind of nonsense.
And that is my point, this is a bit of unexpected good news for people who bought iPhone 15’s. Oppo, and any other brand for that matter are completely irrelevant to that conversation.

DaFink, 23 Feb 2024Seriously, why is it the comment section on every Apple or ... more"What is with you all and this incessant need to try to convince iPhone fans to jump ship?"

That's absolutely not my intent here, I just dislike blind Apple fans, simple as that. There is nothing wrong with iPhones, apart from maybe some software bugs, which can be fixed, and every phone has bugs, so that's not the issue here, and aside from that they are fantastic phones. My problem is simply with people who can't accept the fact that there are plenty of people out there that would spend a lot of money on Oppo, vivo phones, or other chinese phones, because they prefer the features that they offer, over something like an Apple, or Samsung phone.

"No, you don't have them. You can't even buy a Tecno phone."

It's comments like this, that are the issue, this came first, I just replied to it, but you only see the issue with me. Come on. I'm not trying to convince anybody here, this person is trying to make others feel bad about their own choices, disbelief and hatred is all I see in coments like this. So, I just wanted a little insight about iPhones, and why they are so good.

DarlingYext, 23 Feb 2024The highest-end Oppo costs anywhere between 930 eur and 111... moreSeriously, why is it the comment section on every Apple or iOS article this site puts up ends up being about the likes of Oppo or Xiaomi etc?

What is with you all and this incessant need to try to convince iPhone fans to jump ship?

You said it yourself before waffling on about the some random Oppo phone’s spec ‘ Different people have different preferences, thus make different choices.’

So the 15 Pro Max doesn’t need to be ‘better’ it just needs to be somebody’s choice. In fact not you, me or anyone posting on this site can arbitrarily rule on which is ‘better’ anyway, we can only offer our opinions based on our preferences.

This was an article about Apple making some improvements to their battery tech, why is everyone droning on about Oppo 🤷

JaiHind69420, 23 Feb 2024As if you really have a choice with the budget you have lolThe highest-end Oppo costs anywhere between 930 eur and 1115 eur imported, that's not a cheap phone by any means, and considering you HAVE TO import it, if you want one, it's nothing but a choice. Different people have different preferences, thus make different choices.

Oh and if you like Apple so much, what exactly is better about an iPhone 15 Pro Max, than for example the Oppo Find X7 Ultra?

First of all, the Oppo comes with all the necessary accessories, even a case and a charging brick. It charges significantly faster, at 100W with that included charger, and can wirelessly charge at 50W, at least twice the speeds of any iPhone's wired charging. It has 2 periscope cameras making it more versatile than any iPhone, and better at zoom than any iPhone, since both of it's sensors are bigger than Apple's one option. The ultrawide camera is also much larger and higher resolution than what Apple has to offer, and so is the main camera. The display is also higher resolution, and it's even brighter than the iPhone.

So what does your iPhone have to offer? I know this is also "too long", and you don't like reading, but I'm curious, maybe you will reply when it's about defending "the best phone" on the market. :)

It's very good to everyone I think it's just for you.r to see if you want to this one is something bigning to yourself

JaiHind69420, 22 Feb 2024Your oppo garbage drops 90% of its value when you buy it.As does every other Android phone, and that's because there is competition, a lot at that. So the moment you buy one and maybe feel like you wanted something else, which is already a rare thing to happen, you sell it, you have to calculate in the fact that the store that buys it, has to make profit on it, and said phone at maximum, or near max price on the used market would make no sense, as you might as well buy it new, or buy something else from the couple 1000 other options for a similar price.

Oh, and so what? Most people buy phones to keep them and use them, not to sell them.

"No, you don't have them. You can't even buy a Tecno phone."

Why do you feel the need to assume what type of phone someone has, or is able to buy? Is it because he mentioned 2 Oppo phones that have a total price so high that he could've just bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max instead, so there is no way he chose Oppo phones instead?

It's a personal choice, having enough money for certain things doesn't mean someone needs, or even wants them. Some people have enough money to buy an S24 Ultra, but have no need for it, so they just get an A14 instead, which still does the job and they have no need for the extra features anyways.

I on the other hand have multiple phones, enough to have a total value of an iPhone 15 Pro Max (1TB) and a Galaxy Z Fold 5 (1TB), yet I chose to buy neither of them. Can you believe that? I doubt it, but that's how it is.

why are they releasing this information 5-6 months after they have release their product? weren't they aware of this fact back then?

LOL. My iPhone 15PM's batt dropped to 98% in just two months since the time it was bought. Not sure if due to software updates as I am not using it to play games or even watch movies/series.
