I can't believe the Japanese like Samsung's dump. Anyway, Apple is the undisputed leader in Japan and Samsung is far behind Apple so it cannot be considered a victory for Samsung.

you have to suffer, 21 Feb 2024they have larger marketshare because consumers vote with th... moreCustomers vote with their lack of tech knowledge, mostly. That's why people keep pumping money in companies that give you less for more.
Example: Sony Xperias were the first waterproof flagships with stereo speakers and stereo mics and decent steadyshot, bravia engine colors before HDR screens were a thing, even in their compact models which were great price to performance. Had the expandable storage and a more detailed 20-23mp cameras (in daylight conditions), 3000+ mAh batteries, yet still everyone was buying apple who had the worst batteries back then, especially tech illiterate girls who buy every garbage that they see on an instagram celebrity. The lack of camera optimization in social media apps back then did the rest.
As a result, brands like sony, apart from a nearly non-existent ecosystem marketing, got less and less popular and they moved out of key markets in response, with other stubborn decisions, further lowering their sales. Samsung and LG were still good options but Sammy got greedy over time and LG kept their hideous backside fingerprint reader...
Now we're left with $1000+ flagships that aren't expandable jn storage or battery or a hassle free cabled audio experience. Instead we will be forced into monthly AI fakery features monthly subscriptions.
While back then competitive options like sony just don't have the money resources nowadays to keep up in software features (e.g. Adjustable flashlight torch brightness still doesn't seem to be available, as well as advanced computational camera night modes and so on. Also, their once brilliant album, music player and keyboard not getting developed anymore) and same for updates.
Just to show what happens when people vote with stupidity.
At least, ZTE offers some value for money, which can't be said for BBK or Xiaomi flagships anymore. But they have the same resource (or knowledge) problem for software polishing and updates.

0odle-noodle, 21 Feb 2024Right, because sony's flagships are cheaper than those... moresamsungs may cost less, but i feel like it's missing a lot of features and cutting too much corners. i just wish they would keep being original instead of copying apple's pay more for less policy. flagship to upper midrange phone market has gone stale and boring since the ongoing craze of e waste for your ears and storing your files off someone else's computer. aka wireless crapbuds and cloud storage. these features are beneficial for whose are financially rich and have 10 gigabit internet. not for average individuals. anyway, on the other side, there are midrangers or even lower midrange offers less like a flagship. honor is the major player of this.

I mean, some people here are sayi... moreIt's not that ZTE is bad, but this phone is way too cheap for a foldable, I doubt it has ads, but it being a Japanese carrier type deal phone, it's definitely full of bloatware, and it's likely going to have more durability issues, than more expensive foldables that aren't very durable to begin with.

you have to suffer, 21 Feb 2024they have larger marketshare because consumers vote with th... moreRight, because sony's flagships are cheaper than those from samsung..
This has to be a joke, right? the Xperia 1V is more expensive than the s24 ultra and the 5V is more expensive than the s24, whie both offer less than the galaxies. The only things the sony phones have going for them are the audio jack, SD card slot, and the 4K display (which is stupid for a screen that's smaller than 7 inches). Everything against the sony phones include overheating issues, poor battery life, ridiculous pricing, only 2 years of support, large bezels, and the fact that they come with literally no accessories anymore (including the charging cable)
Samsung is more popular because they offer much more features, cost less, and have a much better image.
Keep in mind that I'm not saying samsung devices are affordable by any means, just that they cost less.

"This is a Galaxy Z Flip5 competitor with one major trick up its sleeve"
You are mentioning that this phone is a competitor and priced lower, without even mentioning the price of the competitor, which is Flip5. How do we know if it's cheaper by 1$ or 100$?
