I have the Oura ring now, I will buy the galaxy ring as long as it doesn't have a monthly subscription like Oura.

Somehow I remember there were Galaxy smartTags long time ago.

Given they didn't release price, this won't be cheap. At all. This will be like 300€ given how much Oura costs. And it's WAY too much for a device with no display and no real functions other than body monitoring.

HyperionBurn, 26 Feb 2024so this a galaxy watch BUT... instead of putting it on my... moreI'm fairly old and could never stand wearing a watch of any kind never mind those stupid looking bricks people have attached to themselves these days. Probably end up with an Oura at some point.

Wondering if this will have step tracking, and if so, how accurate it will be.

This could be superb with an Extremely Low Power E-Ink kindda display, Bluetooth for emergency health SoS, and a supercapacitor + battery combo for almost instant charging and slower discharge.

So, basically this is a copy of Oura Ring, without the added benefit of years of data analysis that Oura has in algo development.

Samsung could have one upped Oura by including a GSR sensor (for stress), or ECG (rumoured, apparently not in the product) or a longer battery life (Oura does 6-7 days).

Time will tell how well this will do.

HyperionBurn, 26 Feb 2024so this a galaxy watch BUT... instead of putting it on my... moreYou are not the target audience. Some people want a passive non-intrusive device, that measures their temp, HRV, SpO2 (roughly), HR, etc.

That's why Oura Ring has been so successful.

BTW, finger is much more accurate place to measure things like PRV and SpO2 when compared to wrist.

justasmile, 26 Feb 2024Samsung finally proposing to the Galaxy!Just say "YES"

                              so this a galaxy watch
                              BUT...
instead of putting it on my wrist...
i put it on my finger!
so i can't check my steps/notifications/calories etc since there's no screen
which means i have to use my phone...
but for a cheaper price i can get a galaxy fit band! which HAS a screen
i honestly don't understand the point of the ring...

This is peak disposable tech right here.

finally , might as well get married to i-fruit while they are at it since they like to copy them to much

Reminds old bond movie where the ring was used for breaking glass. Pretty sure it will accurately provide inaccurate datas.

This has to be their worst product ever
