zaryan, 29 Feb 2024helio g99 is on 6nmYes, but G99 is more like a young brother of G96 than to G90/G90T/G95.

G90/G90T/G95 has more firepower and also support to videos in 4k@30fps, while G99 doesn't. G99 is more economic due to 6nm, but a G95 with the same nanometes and some upgrades to nowadays necessities would be much better than this dead on arrivel G91

            A Tecno Pova 5 with G99 (6nm, a76+a55, G57 MC2, UFS2.2), 8/128GB, 6000mAh battery is only around 95USD here in Southeast Asia after sale+vouchers. So a G91 with EMMC and 108MP camera would be what, 50USD?

Because manufacturers can now use UFS 2.2 (except on realme phones choose eMMC) for T606, T612 and T616 device. And its slightly better than Helio G85 to put T616 into the throne of entry level.

                                    And there is T619 as well. Its not a well known chip, and its a refreshed version of T606. But the cpu clock speed, screen refresh rate and ISP are slightly increased. Its a good opportunity to beat Helio G91 in entry level competition

                                        Still uses the old hardware, a refreshed version of Helio G85. In the software side, expect shorter support, reaching end of support to Android 14/15 before entering to 2025.

                                        Due to a kernel version 4.19.191 still stuck right before Android 12 comes out since a few years ago. You might get very stable ofc, at the entry level side. But no further support, fixing them security issues. Its no shot Infinix/TECNO can use Helio G91 on the entry level phones, but its rarher nice.

                                        But instead, go for the better ones like Helio G99, D6100+, D7020 which has better support on the budget ones. I'm such a bad feeling reading this
