Let’s go. And here’s hoping PC OEMs start paying attention and ditch intel. It’s about time.

jiyen235, 29 Feb 2024nobody cares about mobile gaming that much. By that I mean,... moreI’m with you on this, even given the performance concerns over the lengthy periods of game play. Games like The Witcher series 3 or GTA V etc. were never designed or intended for small touch screen based devices. Playing these kind of games on smartphones makes about as much sense as picking up a PS5 in order to play Angry Birds or Temple Run etc. 🤷
Sure is technically impressive that modern smartphone soc’s can run these things at all, still doesn’t make a lick of sense to me why any would want to play a complex immersive game designed to be run on a high power Console / PC paired to a large screen, using a dedicated controller of some sort, on a 6-7 inch touch screen based mobile device.

rizki1, 29 Feb 2024It's time for PC games like GTA 5, The Witcher 3 to be... morenobody cares about mobile gaming that much. By that I mean, it's gonna be tough af for people to properly play those games on their tiny ahh phones and even if they do play, the game is gonna be compromised af. That's IF they play, they're gonna have to buy the game and only 10% of people do that I believe. So devs don't care too much about them either unless there's a sh*t ton of microtransactions involved. Besides, phones have higher power but they can't hold it for long, take a look at the minimum scores in wild life extreme stress tests and then judge the capabilities of these chips for long term triple A gaming.

"Snapdragon 8s Gen 2 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite"
Please don't. They can launch it as just SM8635 and it would be miles better than these names. People had no issue with SD 865, 888 etc. 1 more digit doesn't make it harder.

It's time for PC games like GTA 5, The Witcher 3 to be made for mobile. This SoC probably won't use more than 50% of this power just playing popular mobile games like Mobile Legends, Call of Duty etc. Looking at the emulator even the Snapdragon 870 can run GTA 5 30 fps.
