Hemedans, 06 Mar 2024D8300 doesn't even have 1% marketshare, Mediatek come ... moreThat not going to happen mate . You are dreaming .samsung rely on mediatek low price soc so they can gained profit by jacked up the launch $$ mrsp.THen at last screw the buyer pocket .

NOK6600, 06 Mar 2024D8300 clearly winner for upper midrange segment. Next sams... moreD8300 doesn't even have 1% marketshare, Mediatek come no 1 because of Samsung, they have Exclusive partnership and Mtk is giving Samsung Discount. What Mtk soc Samsung is using? Most of time it's G80, Dimensity 700, 6100 etc. Those soc samsung can replace them easily with Exynos but they choose not to. Good Example I gave is Exynos 1330 it's better than anything from Mediatek at same price point but Samsung used it in Indian market and other few markets while use D700 worldwide, this year they even downgrade A15 in favour of mtk

Hemedans, 06 Mar 2024Can you show me better soc than E1330 as from mediatek at s... moreD8300 clearly winner for upper midrange segment. Next samsung A55 will be slower than PocoX6 pro and more expensive.

Also, mediatek is a taiwanese company. We love taiwan country.

I guess it's because they find Qualcomm too expensive and they prefer MediaTek for the lower prices. It's been a while since I last saw a phone with a recent 4/6 series Snapdragon SoC. I only saw they 7 and mainly the 8 series.

Mediatek is soon a national security concern

NOK6600, 05 Mar 2024Where is the exyNose👃 noisy fan ?😝. Dont tell me they are... moreSamsung just decide if they want to sell or don't want, if they replace A05 or A15 series with Exynos then that marketshare will increase a lot.

"Another surprise from China is phones with Unisoc chipset saw a 24% YoY increase both in revenue and volume. "

Gsmarena you are just out of touch with the low /level entry market smartphone space

I am not surprised unisoc chips are making UFS possible at sub 100 market and making full android phones more possible Vs android GO

But because this site doesn't really review entry level phones you guys don't know what's going on in the space

Because you guys can only judge flagships and midrangers

Looking at the chart it's shocking that Apple and Samsung remain the only major non-Chinese phone makers. Why have we just allowed them to takeover the market? Remember when we also had competition from the likes of Asus and HTC? Why might those two companies have been so effectively forced out of the phone market?

Where is the exyNose👃 noisy fan ?😝. Dont tell me they are run away hiding into cave... 😝

rizki1, 05 Mar 2024No one could have expected this before 2019, before that Me... moreInterestingly enough, back in days, maybe almost a decade ago, when smartphones were merely developing to regain the stage, i bought an lg smartphone with sd chip, in a word, it was very upper midrange back then, and a branded phone also. i was not any happy with it, maybe that was a dark era of smartphones yet. i didn't even considered buying a Chinese phone back then also. Was beyond my understanding.

And one friend of mine did buy an Chinese Gigabyte phone, with MTK processor. and it was not any worse than mine, long story short i liked it better then mine, in fact, the chip was very competitive, not any worse. I liked the ui too. But the most impressive was the music quality with that mtk chip. It was way ahead of mine snaodragons.

And my phone today is with mtk chip, it's China made, and the ui is good, and I'm happy with music quality above all. I merely copy my lossless flac collection records to phone and enjoy the music via 3,5 mm audio headphones. ☺️

                                So they did it

rizki1, 05 Mar 2024No one could have expected this before 2019, before that Me... moreIt was not.

XA1 Ultra with 2700mAh and 6.0" 16:9 screen (same size of 6,5" 21:9) could score over 10h of web browsing and video playback.

Mediatek really going strong with really competitive chipsets. It's just so odd they still release ancient G9x chipsets. I get it, it's for low end devices, but we now have many really old chipsets that are way stronger and newer than G9x series.

Well, they're the last that still makes a semi-modern 4G only SoC, aka the G99. Qualcomm had gone all 5G, while Unisoc is using old tech and fabrications. I mean look at how many phones using G99, it's funny how many of them on the market.

Hopefully they ditch mali and go nvidia gpu atleast for flagship to fully fuk over the snapdragon emulator boys.
