They said the same thing about P8P. Well at least it doesn't stat heated all day long.

Promise, promise, and still tosatyystutter battery drainer tensynos...
Still hope Samsung foundry would do 'better' that year ( by better, I only mean 12 months technologically behind instead of 18 months...)

No one compete with tslc right now, even Intel had to do some chips at very bad for competition.

Give it a bigger fingerprint sensor that is also ultrasonic, give the periscope telephoto macro support, increase the telephoto's focal length from 120mm to 125mm instead of reducing it to 113mm (while keeping an f/2.8 focal aperture), give the telephoto a Sony IMX858 sensor, have dual selfie cameras (wide +ultrawide) that both use a Sony LYT500 sensor plus a ToF 3D inside a pill, have a 256GB UFS 4.0 base storage with 16GB of RAM, etc.

Think about it. Google makes Android, the software. If they can make the hardware too... they can have full control over how the phone is made. Perhaps this way they want to beat Apple.

I have no problems with tensor chips if Google reduces the price of their phones by 200 dollars each. The 8 Pro costs the same as an X100 Pro in my country and I'm talking about base Pixel 8 Pro compared to 512 GB X100 Pro, Google just doesn't understand the idea of a value proposition. If your phone isn't worth 1k usd with its chip, reduce the price. Their Pixel 7 had the perfect price to performance ratio and was damn near unbeatable for that price and completely unbeatable after price cuts, Pixel 6 was good but buggy. I don't know what they're smoking that makes them think their phones are worth that much, everyone I know switches phones after 2-3 years, so 4 years of android updates is good enough for a great resale value if the original hardware is good. 7 years isn't such a huge feature that makes the phone worth more than the X100 Pro for instance.

If google don't want to partner up with Qualcomm, why don't they partner up with MediaTek instead! Their Dimensity Series is much more better than any crappynos there is, less heat problem & more energy efficient & have TSMC fabbed it!

xslvrxslwt, 06 Mar 2024Here's my take on this SoC
https://www.reddit.com/r... moreIt's funny how most people in that comment section said they don't care about performance but don't realize that performance and battery life go hand in hand. You're paying the same money as other brands for half the power and less battery life, and the best that they can come up with is, "People don't care." Then I guess it's fine if Google screws them over by offering the Tensor G3 on all upcoming phones ever and just "optimizes" it for a smoother experience, right?
It seems undesirable for them to have a better, more powerful, and more efficient chipset, which probably lasts longer than the worst chipset. What?

why not to use snapdragon or mediatek? your "customized" rebranded exystove would not improve heat and efficiency. rather than just increasing performance to seek more heat and reduced efficiency. too many sweet promises. the G4 would still get underclocked anyway so you'd get 60% of the full potential use for the sake of heat improvement and efficiency

Crappynos 2400 compared to 8g3.
Hotter
Slower
Worse modem
Weaker ISP
Uses much more power
Imagine tensynos 4 , that every year is worse than crappynos of S series
