Mills, 07 Mar 2024EU will probably find them lol, Apple is probably gonna get... moreThey won't leave EU. US market is basically entirely saturated by iPhones. European isn't. Leaving EU market would be stupid when there is so much potential to expand. But they will push back at every opportunity they can get and this is one of them.

To translate: "We don't think epic will pay us the rediculous charges we made up, and we're going to pretend it's for the benefit of the consumer"

potato4k, 07 Mar 2024Haha, well why didn't Apple just do this from day 1? I... moreWhat about in reversal?

HyperionBurn, 07 Mar 2024epic is malicious? tencent? thats just western propaganda m... moreEU will probably find them lol, Apple is probably gonna get pissed by all these fines and just pull out of Europe entirely.

They had to pay 1.8 billion euros for abusing it's music platform.
I'm impartial in this whole Apple V. Epic lawsuit. One one hand, it's 30%, they take 30 cents out of 1 dollar and on the other hand, yea, I think it's bad that Apple just added their own payment UI out of nowhere so they can get a cut.

HyperionBurn, 07 Mar 2024epic is malicious? tencent? thats just western propaganda m... moreLOL. You have no clue. The Chinese govt are in the process of transitioning many of its high tech companies into state-owned. That's not western propaganda, that's the reality if you actually read economic news. But go ahead pretend that the EU is your savior.

This whole thing started because Epic didn’t like that Apple was doing the same thing Epic does in its own game store.

Well, isn't that exactly like them. EU needs to pass more laws until crApple learns to play fair or loses the entire EU market.

                        Nobody cares.

its clear apple doesnt want to listen to the EU

Haha, well why didn't Apple just do this from day 1? It's obvious that Epic was malicious, and considering their backings (Tencent) and how Chinese govt are getting more involved in Chinese tech companies, well, good riddance.

And I'm not sure why the EU commission is meddling in this. This is a contract between two companies. Why does it concern the EU?

Can't wait to see Apple struggle to hold its restrictions after so many years of limiting useful features and standing out notoriously just "for the sake of being Apple". Not going to consider Apple iPhone for my next phone anymore.
