And time will tell how committed they actually are, cause EpIc’s past isn’t exactly stain free…..

DaFink, 08 Mar 2024What about it? My point is, why would Epic Games be a part of the Coalition for App Fairness if they are trying to, as you put it, BE the system? It doesn't seem to make sense that they would do this, then become a monopoly like Google and Apple.

I mean, it's not out of the realm of possibility entirely, but IMHO I don't think that would be in their best interest.

Or… actually read what is going on, what Apple is doing and what are the odds they are putting everyone on just to keep a monopoly before posting a parrot propoganda comment. I mean, no “Monopoly” will give a shit about users or developers since none has an alternative and have to suck it up. What EU has done is giving everyone an option which allowed everyone act together. It certainly won’t change anything on my iPhone since I’m not in EU. Time to say hi to good old glasses.

Subramanian CN, 10 Mar 2024At the same time isn't it right that Apple never force... moreNot when their actions affect others businesses, and consumers wallets. A good example would be spotify, this guys exist before apple even had a smartphone, and way before apple actually made a smartphone, as the first two iphones where nothing but featurephones with a touchscreen. Yet apple try to drive their greedy truck over sportify, and take their customers in a very anti-competitive manner, monopolistic actions, while charging the customer for more. That is where EU parliament, and not only, needs to slap apple with a lot of fines, and force them to stop their practices, so you see you cannot just ignore the devil, you need to fight it.

If I bought an iPhone in Europa, it would belong to me with everything on it, independent of whatever Apple asked me to agree on when I start the phone the first time.
Got it? Ok, then let us move on!

If the Uber case is too complicated for you, just take a taxi driver who has bought his own car.
It is my car as a taxi driver. I don’t want to pay 30% just because my car manufacturer asks the fuel companies to share 30% of the revenue with them.
If I want to buy a tyre, I don’t want to pay 30% extra to be passed to my car manufacturer. Things like that just don’t exist.

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2024You're wrong there. Car manufacturers didn't prov... moreThe d..best comparison ever. First of all, because nobody would buy a Hause in your conditions, probably only apple users, they seem to not think further then renting stuff even when they buy them. Second, because it makes no sense. If you want to do a real world comparison then it would sound like this. Imagine you buy a Hause and the land it stays on, where you like it, from whoever you like and whoever has it with a price you come to accept. Versus buying a Hause from whoever you like but beying forced to pay for the land to the same third party, that is an absolute monopolist ahole, that ran over all the small land-owners and now sets the prices as he sees fit. So no matter what you buy and where you want to buy, you are forced to pay to the same ahole a lot of money because this is what he wants, and also forced to give him a spare key because he will do the decor and whatever he wants in your hause, while you are not allowed to change nothing because even tough you pay and payed a tone of money for it, it is not really your hause, as long as it is on his lands. Thats your apple in a nutshell. And this is only the small part of the whole story, so before doing comparisons, learn whom you're dealing with.
