Three-way competition between Samsung, Huawei and Apple was causing all three of them to make really competitive devices, and now Samsung and Apple aren't even trying. The S10 series was great, as was the S20 series, but Samsung became Scamsung starting with the S21 series (if you didn't get the Ultra phone, that is), which just so happened to coincide with the Huawei ban because, well, they didn't need to compete so hard anymore. The phone market's been a slump for the most part ever since then, even if it's had great breakthroughs, like with the Google Pixel 6 and 7 series giving us great cameras for cheap compared to everyone else; or Honor's increasing their market share in the West thanks to their innovativeness and their willingness to expand to new markets; or Vivo going from highly uncompetitive devices to suddenly having one of the best smartphones in the market with the Vivo X100 Pro and its amazing set of cameras and camera software. Point is, these kinds of stuff do still happen, but the pace at which things noticeably improve is generally really sluggish. So many brands now have macro on their telephotos, but Samsung, Google and Apple still don't. Hell, Apple only just got periscope modules for their telephoto this year, and they still excluded it from their $1,000 iPhone 15 Pro because "space" (and definitely not because they're obsessed with having phones that are too thin and also because greed).

    They just used proper marketing tactics from their mainland HQ.

    Their camera post-processing was terrible, worse than Apple and Samsung at the time (P20).
    The hardware was great on paper, and pricing was more sensible than those two, but they greed was starting to show when they removed the SD card slot + turned off official way of unlocking bootloader.

    All in all, you guys are still crying over Chinese Samsung. The same bad practices Samsung does today, were all done first by Huawei. Just go check all of their midrange devices to see what I mean.

      They need time to produce enough chipsets in relatively new nanometer.

        And as far as i know EMUI 13 was based on Android 12, As we speak, there’s a beta program for EMUI 14, which I think is based on Android 13(of course the open source version) I don’t think there be much difference between 13 and 14, but yes, one version older than others.

                    When discussing China-only phones it's kind of like discussing mythical creatures (Mate 60 doesn't get a review)

                      I hope the Pro comes with something better than this! It is more of the same! I hope they take the reins and mount a 10x periscope
