Samsung can make foldable screens without a crease.
But hasn't released them yet, likely to maximize profits in the absence of competition.

Will the "foldable" iPhone with no creases have IP rating like Galaxy flip and fold 5s

GSMarena-isBest, 09 Mar 2024I knew it. You know. That apple will do such a thing. And that's what makes it so funny. Because a few years ago, Apple explicitly denied they would ever create a foldable.

Am just here to read off bitter commments from Android users who willingly paid premium price for beta testing foldable technology that becomes obsolete year after year. 😆😆😆
Also for those who blindedly believe marketing since day 1 of the early sammy fold, the crease isnt visible. 😆😆

Anonymous, 08 Mar 2024But they do most of the things better though When every other OEM has tried specific tech and tried to make the tech mature by reducing mistakes, the recipe for better tech is available to apple (just copy it). At this point, introducing the tech as 'apple done it better' is not that difficult.

They even granted patents for an opening in a wall (a door), and a swing hung from a tree. No joke.

King Miracle, 08 Mar 2024Apple Strikes again. Tim cook’s done cooking!Done what?? Been years late again and acting like they going to create foldables?? Yep creaseless displays have been done look at Oppo Find N and others nothing new here. Just Apple using other peoples tech as always and trying to patent everything

looks promising. but i hope they don't say we are so innovative or people claiming apple did it better or something, i'd laugh at anyones face with such statements.

Let´s hope they can pull this up ahead. I like foldables and i want this form factor to evolve

I'm with Kuo with this one. The iPhone is Apple's main cash cow that they won't risk the line for some bleeding edge tech. Also, all iPhones are IP68/67 since the iPhone 7. I doubt Apple would release a new iPhone with something less.

Meanwhile, there's no IP rating needed for a Macbook. This will be revenge of the Touch Bar, aka having the whole keyboard side as a touch screen as well.
