Mikey, 10 Mar 2024There's no winning with you people, if Apple does noth... moreHear me out, I think having a shutter button on a phone is nice regardless, but it all just seems like a very disingenuous move from Apple.
There are faint contradictory hypocritical overtones in all this, perhaps because Apple is usually the one to proclaim "less is more" like they did when removing the jack.

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2024Apple has lost it completely. Button everywhere, on a smart... moreTo be fair, this was what various Android phones from over a decade ago did (e.g. Motorola Motoluxe). And it was nice.
I just find it funny that Apple decides to implement this button now, when most Android phones have already lost this button for a long time, due to not being that necessary.
It's as if Apple secretly appreciated that button back then, but didn't want to seem like they were following the trend in Android phones (cus Apple believes they're the only trendsetters). And now that nobody remembers a time when Android phones had a shutter button, they bring it onto their phones.

Mikey, 10 Mar 2024There's no winning with you people, if Apple does noth... moreBut they are late to the party with the capture button we seen on feature phones like Sony Ericsson or Nokia and then in Nokia/Microsoft Lumia series.
Never mind that the same function for taking photos you got from volume button also.

Bodygard, 10 Mar 2024Allow me to partly disagree. There's a big difference ... moreI cannot recall apple ever innovating, they always took others innovations, after a few years, everything apple released, was already there a long time before they released it. Yeah even touch screen phones.

DaFink, 10 Mar 2024You just described the industry as a wholeHe actually described apple. This type of greed is at a whole new level and was not known before apple started to gain some sort of popularity.

Anton el .PAPI, 10 Mar 2024It doesn't just happen to Apple! What else are they g... moreThat was what people were saying a couple years ago "what's there to innovate?!" and they came out with...foldables! I don't see me using one (for now) but it's an innovation. Why doesn't Apple invests in foldable (or a flip) and makes the first one with 0 crease and stunning battery life, integration with apple vision pro etc? Why don't apple, now that they are full on esim, launch the first iphone with no physical ports at all, only wireless charging/communication with pc/mac. Why don't Apple invest on tech and show us the first iphone with under display camera and a true 100% screen real estate etc there's still a lot of paths that they could follow and show us a different way of looking at things.
