JURE 75, 11 Mar 2024Why was exynos unacceptable to you? I had it in the s22U an... moreA53. Battery drain in standby. Heat in simple tasks. Random app freezing, especially when I need to do something quick. It was nightmare.
Also I read many, many complaints about S22. Some people joked it's a landline telephone because of battery life.
Phone is too expensive and too necesary tool in my life to depend if they finally fixed Exynos in S24 or not. I don't trust reviewiers because many of them didn't see any problem in A53 or S22.

This right here is why Samsung don't care about all the people who whine about Exynos.
None of the complaints will ever change anything if their sales keep increasing despite Exynos.

I am S23 user and it sounds ridiculous to me. I bought double the price phone just to avoid Exynos in A54. I don't need dex, wireless charging or billions of points in antutu. But exynos was unacceptable to me.

Anon, 11 Mar 2024It's ultra-difficult for me to accept a phone is €700+... moreThen buy the Zenfone 10 instead. It's small form factor, and "It also supports hi-res audio via the headphone jack and supports it wirelessly with the LDAC codec, in addition to aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, and AAC formats. Audio is also tuned in partnership with Dirac. That’s a very impressive list, upgrading in several areas over the Zenfone 9, and you will struggle to find all of this on any other phone."

It's ultra-difficult for me to accept a phone is €700+ when I could lose it at any time for a million reasons, even though I've never lost / damaged-beyond-repair any phone in the past 25 years. I also only do an avg. of ~1 h of phone screen time / day so I can't rationalize the price from that angle either.
Problem is, the only phones that cover my needs are compact flagships which are few and very far apart. Since 2019 I'm running a P30 and until very recently there was literally no phone that could replace this Huawei wonder that can still last 2 days on a single charge, flies through anything I do with zero hiccups and takes excellent pics/videos.
Xiaomi 14 is the first phone in years that can replace my P30 but it's ridiculously expensive in my country (Romania) where it's only available in the 12/512 GB variant and starts at €900. This variant is overkill for me as 8/256 GB more than covers my foreseeable needs for the next 3-5 years. In other countries I saw the 14 available in some good deals that package the 8/256 GB variant with a Pad 6 at a good price but not in my country.
So I'll most likely have to live with the Exynos CPU and the no-aptX (not) found on the S24 8/256 GB. In the autumn, during BF sales, it'll somehow be available under €700 and its saving grace are those 7 years of security updates as that allows me to hand it down to someone in my family after ~4 years, which is something that I value and so I can finally rationalize the purchase but it still bothers me that I have to endure compromises with a €700 phone that has:
- 2nd-best CPU
- bad audio out (*NO* 3.5 mm analogue out and *NO* half-decent wireless audio codec like aptX)
- *NO* notification LED (yes, I WANT THE NOTIFICATION LED WITH DIFFERENT COLORS AND NO ALWAYS ON SCREEN!!!).

Samsung be like:
*Makes S24 and S24+ Exynos, but S24U Snapdragon*
If (S24U sells better because of Exynos on the other variants):
Claim ("See? Nobody buys small phones! It has nothing to do with the SoC!")
If (S24 sells better anyway):
Claim ("See? People don't care about the SoC!")

Notebookcheck published the S24+ review today. The Exynos 2400 is a dumpster fire compared to the S23+ Snapdragon 8 Gen 2... But most people don't care about that stuff.
