potato4k, 13 Mar 2024Well, most youtubers are hardly a techie, and most don'... moreI can understand that @justasmile and you're bummed by the confusion created by Mediatek's official spec sheet and what various news agencies are stating. You don't have to take any reviewer's word for it, the storage speed test would speak for itself. From what it appears, only the D7200 Ultra (in the Redmi Note 13 Pro+) has UFS 3.1. All other phones with either the standard D7200 or NP 2a's D7200 Pro seem to have UFS 2.2.

PhoneFreak45, 13 Mar 2024All the people complaining about UFS 2.2 (if that's ev... moreI think you're missing the point here. It's good to know that your LG phone from 4 years ago is still functioning well with UFS 2.1. The question is, will it work similarly 4 years from now? What perhaps a lot of people are bummed about, in case of the NP 2a, is the lack of a similar future proofing that UFS 3.1 would have brought to the table.

Besides, like someone else is pointing out here, Mediatek clearly states that the D7200 has UFS 3.1 storage. So, it would appear that Nothing went the extra mile to downgrade to UFS 2.2 (as part of their D7200 "Pro" move 😅). As of the date of writing this comment, it seems like barring the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ (which has the 7200 ultra), all other D7200 phones have UFS 2.2, and if Nothing else, people have the right to feel misguided by the official Mediatek spec sheet and what companies are actually shipping.

Leo0404, 13 Mar 2024I like the design but im not pay extra price for the spec, ... moreThis is still better than the Samsung A55, which performs about the same with a price tag of almost 2x (at least in India)

I like the design but im not pay extra price for the spec, smoothness is predictably dropping within few years

All the people complaining about UFS 2.2 (if that's even what it is) have no clue what they're talking about. I have an LG V60 from 2020 which uses UFS 2.1, it's more than enough for me to export 4K videos, transfer/download any file to any speed of device I could connect to it, play games at the highest level the processor can handle, and you're telling me it's not enough for you to browse twitter and play angry birds on your 350£ phone? Ridiculous. Find something to complain about that actually effects the usability for some people shopping in that price bracket - for example expandable storage.

Just got my NP 2a. its way better than what i expected and saw on the youtube. Feels and works premium, the glyphs are not just for the show, it has real life use.. thats one benchmark for other midrange phones

Azu10157, 13 Mar 2024Meanwhile Samsung doesn't have native call recording. ... moreProbably region dependent. Samsung OneUI does have native call recording. It might be disabled in your region due to regulatory issues.

Mike4, 13 Mar 2024So... you're saying , the Indian and other asian youtu... moreWell, most youtubers are hardly a techie, and most don't even know how the tech works. Anyhow, since Nothing themselves doesn't provide the exact storage specification, I fall back on the SoC maker, and Mediatek website indicated that Dimensity 7200 uses USF3.1. If it supported other speeds, they would've listed as such. Eg. Dimensity 7030 listed both UFS2.1 and UFS3.1 as supported storage speed.

So, in the absence of factual information from Nothing, I would believe Mediatek than random youtubers, unless they themselves can provide their source of information.

Meanwhile Samsung doesn't have native call recording. Useful for when you're dealing with shithead companies like Hertz
