...which tbh is a minority of the buyers of this phone, since I know that the majority of people who buy this phone will replace it in 3 years, maybe less, maybe more.

I have been using both S24Ultra and S24Plus (Exynos) for over a month.
Ultra's battery life is definitely better.

Although the Samsung S24 Ultra is the top of the top, I prefer and bought a Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus and I am delighted with the performance of its Exynos 2400 processor, even with the excellent battery life. The Smartphone is spectacular, to further improve this flagship, Samsung only lacked the option of 1 TB of storage.

AnonD-1147675, 18 Mar 2024If you want to quickly compare battery life, in the battery... moreThe big battery difference is definitely because of the resolution difference. Exynos and Snapdragon wouldn't have such a big difference in the battery life.

CamoGeko-XDA, 18 Mar 2024The S24+ is the best Plus version from Samsung yet, but it ... moreLast year all had sd8g2, still ultra was best seller of the three

            If only we could have:
            - S24+ Body
            - S24U Specs (SoC, Screen, Camera, Pen)
            - Pixel 8P Software (bootloader, root, custom roms)

...that would be it, that's what the fans really want.
I mean we're begging here, not even asking for extra features like Front-firing Stereo Loudspeakers, QuadDAC, 3.5mm Port, DualSIM, microSD slot, etc etc.

Otherwise, it's just all too bland and simple. No good reason to NOT get an iPhone, if the OEMs are going to degrade the Android Experience that much. I would consider a Sony, or maybe an ASUS, but they aren't available to me. And if I bought a "gray market" model from online, the price gets very expensive, with chance of lost parcels, and zero warranty support. My only option is to keep my older phone for a longer period.

jiyen235, 18 Mar 2024both are so horrible for the price it's funny, really.... moreYou were speaking lot bur the conclusion is the price of S24 series that you do not fit in. I do not say that S24U paricularly has the photographer's result as you wish but it provide the result consistently.

7 years of usage? Of course it can be. S8/S8+ is now 7 years age and the phones is still fine for daily usage. Only few games that need power may not fit in but we can set the setting to low mode in S8 series.
(Please do not use iPhone 6s for the example because it is in different world lol)

CamoGeko-XDA, 18 Mar 2024The S24+ is the best Plus version from Samsung yet, but it ... moreCouldn't the Ultra be marketed as the phone to get for people that want the best camera? Hardware wise, the Ultra's cameras are actually flagship level, unlike the Plus. Isn't that the main difference apart from the pen?

The S24+ is the best Plus version from Samsung yet, but it should have been priced a bit lower imo.

I even understand why Samsung used the Exynos chipset instead of SD8 Gen 3 globally. If they did put the latter in then only a small amount of people would buy the Ultra.

GN3/GN5 are more advanced than GN1/GN2, both are just smaller.

Go see DNG files of pixels to see how lower quality GN1 is.
Even DPReview complained about lack of flexibility files give.

                        By the way GN3 > GN5 > GN9 , despite same size/resolution.

justasmile, 17 Mar 2024Only if you really can't afford the S24+. The S24+ jus... moreIf you want to quickly compare battery life, in the battery section of this very article you can press on "Add to comparison" and add your phone of choice, as long as it's relatively recent. And according to this tool, the S23+ gets 13:51, while the S24+ gets 12:30, so battery life got much worse (might be the Exynos, might be the 1440p display).

both are so horrible for the price it's funny, really. Unless you need to do videography, the Oneplus 12 is a far better choice compared to the S24+. The S24+ and Ultra are so close now the Ultra feels like a joke, especially that 3x lens on both. Idk if it's due to processing or it actually IS more detail but the daytime shots on the 3x of the Ultra look a bit overcooked compared to the Plus, I really like the more organic rendition of grass and stuff.

These two phones are so close in terms of camera hardware now that it's funny that the highest end model is still called the Ultra. Looking at these shots, I still don't understand the problem with the Find X7 Ultra's UW cam, it's perfect to me, not sharp yes but it could be sharpened and you could get the same result. The only thing that's weird for me is how Oppo and to a certain extent Xiaomi, don't properly utilize the sensor cropping capabilities or maybe the sensor isn't good enough for the sensor cropping stuff, which is why the S24 Ultra has such good 10x where in 5x and 6x those others win. But regardless, those are real Ultra phones.

I've yet to see someone who buys an Ultra phone and keeps it for 7 years, it was like that back in the day with iPhones like the iPhone 6s, they weren't overly expensive back in the day and the phones were given off to younger kids later on. Nowadays each kid has their own phone so I really wonder who actually NEEDS 7 years? I'm not saying it's bad by any means, but I find it hard to see how that's gonna be a value point for people when most likely they're gonna sell the phone and get a better one. I don't think the 7 year updates would provide much value for people because tech gets/feels old real fast. Unless you're Apple, resale value isn't anything to be proud of, especially Samsung phones like yikes man even officially they get discounted 200-300 dollars all the time, how's someone supposed to get nice resale value if the original value is so low (comparatively speaking)?

The S24 Ultra is inarguably a flagship, while in contrast, the S24+ isn't.

Its battery is 4900 mAh, smaller than almost any budget phone, and its battery life is worse than the tiny Zenfone 10.
It may come with a stove for an SoC in many regions.
Its main camera uses a midranger's sensor, while its telephoto has the whopping resolution of 10MP.
It only comes with 12GB of RAM (which is enough, but flagships and even midrangers are starting to offer 16GB).
It doesn't even have WiFi 7.
Samsung apparently didn't even bother with the less reflective display.

The S24+ is not a flagship, it's a premium midranger, one that costs 1000$ for some reason.
At least this year the very sharp 1440p display returns and it gets 7 years of updates, else it wouldn't even be a premium midranger...

You may accuse me of hating Samsung, but for my defense, until I got my Zenfone 9 I exclusively used samsung smartphones and loved them.

JoXim, 17 Mar 2024Conclusion....buy S23+...Only if you really can't afford the S24+. The S24+ just pulls ahead with its 7 OS updates. Ignore the Exynos since its battery life compared to S23+ should be just about the same with FHD+ anyways.

Unless you actually want an S pen I dont see any good reason to get an S24 Ultra.
Most people will just get a case and glass is glass so the build argument is silly imho and the S24+ is just so much easier to handle than the S24 Ultra while retaining almost the same display size.
Judging by the active use score the batterylife really doesnt differ enough except for gaming to make any case.
A case can be made for the camera's in this specific comparison but let's be real, if you want great cameras Samsung shouldn't be your first choice.
The less reflective display does seem great, but with that price difference it's not worth it.

S24+ is my next phone. S24 is too small with lower ram and slower charging. S24 Ultra is boxy and huge. I don't need super camera or s pen. So my choice is final.
