Some people needs a phone that still performs smoothly after 3 years of usage or more, well if you use your phone normally and not replacing it every year.

The A55 price is extremely disappointing - the S23 FE (128 GB) retails around 41K INR for example.
As far as I know, there are only 2 A5x phones that were good. Rest of them are all trash.

Just give it a couple of months and the price would drop to around $350 USD. Maximum people come here and comment negative things about Samsung without even using a midrange one. I myself belonged to that category once! But now I have realized that it was a misconception and I was kind of biased by public opinion. As a gamer, I need a phone which has good specs specially a good processor. I purchased OnePlus 8 Pro 3 years back at around $700 USD. Everything was great about that phone except the pandemic of display's green line issue. I sold that phone few months ago and purchased Samsung Galaxy A54 by $350 USD as I was unwilling to spend more money on high end device which has no certainty of longevity. After using this device for 2 months, I am actually satisfied. Yes, the processor gets heated sometimes but not frequently. The display is super bright and fluid. I have no issues with the UI as it is smooth enough for me. I play games around 2 hours regularly and the phone doesn’t get that much hot that I can't hold it anymore. Yes, I expected a better efficient processor which can handle pressure and heat, but what can I expect at this price range? It's a solace that I got a IP67 rating at this price segment! Other brands may offer tempting specs at this price range but I doubt how long they will last after my experience with OnePlus! So yeah, wait for a few months and then you can give it a try and see it for yourself.

They are actively trying to push people to S series. Those who want cheaper stuff can go for M or F series. Those who are looking at A series have the financial ability to go for either S or SFE series.

It's a basic design feature, that Samsung is only using on 400 usd or even more expensive phones, even though they used to use it's similar side mounted version on much cheaper phones like the A21(s) and even on the A11 years ago, before going back to cheap and outdated looking teardrop/waterdrop notches.
