For software OnePlus & Nothing offer 3 years of OS Updtaes & that's just 1 year less than Samsung currently offering.
In honest opinion 1 year of extra software support can't compensate for the hardware lacking from Samsung side.
Maybe Samsung is trying to establish itself as premium brand & trying to increase profit per device sold

rosesarerosie, 14 Mar 2024But-but the software updates..😟😟Nord 3 got Dimensity 9000 which is way ahead in terms of computational power and graphics than Samsung has ever put in an A series...Heck the best Samsung A model- A73 had that 778G+ as the best processor so far in the lineup, (and ironically A7x series was discontinued) OnePlus Nord has 3+1 years of software+security, Nord 4/5 might have the same software support Samsung only has one year advantage when it comes to software support (4+1 years), Does software support matter if the hardware is really bad? You can offset the software support if your hardware is capable enough, but it's not the other way around

Samsung must be either really confident on their fan base or really delusional that these will sell well when compared to competitors at this price point
1) S23Fe available a̶t̶ a̶r̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ 4̶3̶K̶ after discounts( Samsung silently removed the discounts after this launch!!! Now it's at 50-55K on the official site!)
2) Nothing phone 2 at 39K/470USD for the top variant 12/512Gb!!
3) OnePlus 12R 8/256gb at 40KINR/482$ base variant
3) cheap iqoos and vivos at around the same price category (30-40K with much potent camera and processor at this price)
4)Nothing 2a at 330£/23K INR similar camera, processor and software
I love the Samsung for their S series especially the S23 and note 10 out of everything they've launched...Sad to see Samsung taking the Nokia/Microsoft route by being not great value while trusting so much on capable software, I guess Samsung is heading towards the same fate

People buy it because they want to be seen using a Samsung phone, with its signature phone design and One UI.
Thats why most people dont want to spend more than USD400 to buy chinese phone.

Gorgeous design with relatively cheap price.
For a premium brand like Samsung, the cheapest Galaxy A55 should be priced USD500 (or equivalent).
Not to mention, the Infinity-O middle punch hole camera design are originated from Samsung, and has inspired many chinese brand to copy Samsung design or use Samsung display.

I've never understood Samsung's ideology of pricing A5x phones. With each iteration price goes up and that too it comes so close to Galaxy FE devices, which completely defeats the purpose. For me A52s was a great device but after that A5x went haywire.
Simply overpriced.
