Report: Apple considers licensing Google's Gemini AI for iPhone

Apple is reportedly bringing new AI features to iOS 18 developed on its in-house LLMs but it's also considering a licensing deal for generative AI purposes.

        Samsung did a similar deal, all their generative AI edits in photos etc is licensed from Google. Must be really cost prohibiting to develop your own and maintain the server infrastructure for it at scale, so smart move by Apple, although consolidates Googles dominant position

          Gemini is the poster boy for everything wrong in terms of Ethical and Responsible AI. But again it was co-developed and trained with Reddit so it doesn't surprise me given their constant left-wing bias.

                  Google really have a lot of $$$ to make a deal with Apple for the search engine and now the AI 😳
