Like the 7700 XT is fast, don't get me wrong, it's just that it's more of a 1440p card than the 4k 120 hz thing they're advertising. With just a tad bit more power, they could've easily made a 4k machine but with upscaling of course, a bit more dynamic upscaling like 1260-1800p kind of upscaling, right now it seems we'll get 900-1440p kind of native res that'll get upscaled to 4k. NOT Sony's fault, developers nowadays push out stuff that's just not proper for this gen/not as optimized as earlier games. Last of Us 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Doom Eternal, amazing examples of games which look great and run fast.

Can't blame gamers if the choose consoles when their current price will only get them a gpu. I can go out and get an Xbox Series S now for just 1/3 or 1/4 the price of an RTX 3000 series gpu.

                        Yes, they are incomparable but no one will be able to build something on the same price point as PS/XB levels without being in the US and resorting to extreme used parts hunting.

                        The pc market has been gatekept into an enthusiast hobby now.

The XB1 was very underpowered, and the PS4 was a let down almost as much. And that last generation stayed a LONG time, it was definitely a necessity to have the midgen refresh, especially handy with the PS4-Pro launching earlier in 2018.

                            What's the point of all of this?
                            It's to map what is probable to happen. The PS5 is going to stay on the market for a LONG time. And with the 2-3 years wasted from the pand emic, it kind of makes sense. The good news is that the PS5 is a bit over-powered as a console. The XSX is very impressive. So they won't age as bad as the PS4 or PS3 generations at their tail end. BUT. They will age, and it will be a LONG time. So my recommendation is to BUY at the launch date for the PS5 Pro, because it will age much more refined AND you will enjoy that experience for longer. I do NOT recommend waiting, because it is clear that price drops won't be coming, not for a long time.

                            So yah, as much as I am a tighta rse, I am saying BUY it because it will be worth it from a VALUE perspective : )

                              This gen of consoles is virtually pointless imo with how the so-called “games” released for it are.

                              What’s the point of buying a console when there’s nothing good to play on it?

                                        Raytracing, beefed up GPU - for what? To "play" a re-re-re-released remaster of an interactive movie from 10 years ago? Current generation really has no games.
