Chipsets like these depending on how expensive they are and what type of phones they go into, could make the midrange phones from Pixel, Samsung largely unattractive.

This is very similar to the snapdragon 8s gen 3. Slightly lower clock speeds and a slightly worse GPU but performance in benchmarks is very similar based on the first two phones with both chips which were released today in China

but they might put the dimensity 8300 instead

SM7675 and SM8635 are identical design with the latter having better ISP and CODEC.

While looking good on paper, don't forget that the twins have their cache and GPU heavily nerfed... It has only half the cache of SM8550 and 1/3 of SM8650.

Apart from GPU, cache is also vital for gaming performance, especially for MIN and 1% LOW frame numbers. This is about stuttering, what synthetic benchmark won't tell you (oh don't forget that it already showed Dimensity 8300 level performance in benchmarks).

One example is Dimensity 1000 series (2020). They had very good specs on paper and woe performance irl due to smaller cache compared with SD865(SM8250).

Qualcomm is a very, very shrewd firm. SM8635 and SM7675 are far inferior than SM8550. They are only offering Dimensity 8300 level performance.

Price, price matters. It is not reasonable to buy the two if SD8 Gen2 is available at the same price. Grab your SD8 Gen2 if you really want top performance in the same price segment.

Sounds like a impressive chipset. Hope it's used widely.

"Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will be OnePlus, Realme, and Sharp"

Sharp? Ain't that company who experimented with 240hz refresh rate? Also, we will be buying Ace 3V

That's a huge jump from Cortex-X2 in 7+ Gen 2. Since Xiaomi is the only one that made a smartphone with 7+ Gen 2 and sold it globally, it'd be interesting to see if the next Poco F6 will have this new SoC. Also, Sharp on the list as among the first with this new SoC? I'd be interested to check it out.
