24 March 2024
It's larger than you may have expected, but it may be just what people were hoping for - a cheaper ROG Phone.

I had Zenfone 6 but it got like 2 android updates and 3 years of security updates and still Asus is not giving proper software support for their flagship phones.

So yeah there are better flagship phones!

The age of small phones have truly died in the mainstream brand.

Nah. No micro SD support. Don't see a reason to upgrade from my A52s yet when I can fit a whole terrabyte in there for cheap.

$899 is a problem since it's in a tough competition for affordable premium flagship phones. I definitely want to see compact Zenfone 11 coming.

Since i hate notch my only choices are just sony and zte (whether axon, z, or redmagic series). Unfortunately the latest rog phone has a notch now :(.
Thx apple for popularizing notched screen, thx sharp for being the first modern phone using notch, thx moto for being the first notched phone ever long before it is cool.

Asus been drinking too much lately. They're slacking off. Zenfone 11 (the smaller version) better save them or they're cooked in the mobile division.

If you know about technology and are a veteran of it! you go. aie with the ecosystem of Apple, Samsung, pixel, Xiaomi* if you are outside of China, if I lived in China I would buy a Huawei and that's it.... None of this nonsense, call me an "ultra" phone that doesn't have ultra nothing!!! just to try to fool some clueless people

Guys, I've voted for "better flagships out there", meaning the one plus 12 first of all. Because of telephoto, processor, price. Even 12r would do.

L.O.R.D, 24 Mar 2024The Zenfone 11 Ultra is priced like an Ultra but without th... moreAgree, their Max Pro series was a massive success, at least in my country. Dunno why they don't want to continue that success.

Or at least if they don't want to bother with the midrange market anymore, just stick with their own strategy: a small phone that has an unlockable bootloader. 3/4 OS upgrades would be expectable at this price point, especially the fact that they're using a close-to-stock UI, it shouldn't take a long time to develop a software update.

Also the new ROG Phone 8/Z11U's camera island is just straight up ugly imo.

Nope. Nobody with common sense will buy any of their high ping spike phones.! Hard to believe it's made by Asus, and not acer. Because they are true acer quality.!

Absolute NO, this signed that aSUS didn't learn from the past year's mistakes this decade (except the Zenfone 6 2019 which is a great comeback).

Like seriously aSUS, I want the compact back, I want the motorized camera back, I want the under display camera back, I want the tool-less expansive Modularity back and I want the decent pricing from the Max series back.

This isn't the way it is, this is a cheap way to challenge Apple and Samsung but it's actually sending existing customers to go there and somewhere else. Without the Compact and Motorized Camera release, this is a complete DUD.

If you can't make a compact phone to sell like hotcakes, build a foldable for next time of a year.

Darth Caesium, 24 Mar 2024I personally noticed the lack of sharpness on my old phone,... morehmm I don't think it was the resolution but rather the sub pixel structure that bothered you. The same thing is happening with QD-OLEDs and WOLEDs in monitors. A higher resolution is required to get the same definition as LCDs had.

I've personally used a Galaxy M32 before and it never felt not sharp to me, it just felt lacking in brightness and the color calibration that the flagships get. The gamma tracking, the color accuracy all of it was just not upto par. I've used a 21 inch FHD LCD monitor for the past 10 years and I of course can see the difference between QHD and FHD but on phones at least I feel like unless someone is super sensitive, they're not going to notice. Also, the quality of the display matters a lot as well. Even a 100 dollar TV can be an LCD TV and a 2500 dollar TV can be an LCD TV, so there's also that. Ig the panel in that phone you used was pretty mid. I've tried an S20 FE and Pixel 7, and I can say I really don't mind all that. Color calibration is the number 1 priority for me, properly tracked gamma and color accuracy makes everything pop in a good way and feel realistic.

                                      Nop

Idk what userbase is Asus trying to sell their phone for though. 😅
This phone won't be a sucess
