Guys stop bullying Apple :(
It's just a small indie company that creates niche devices for broke people. It doesn't have the resources to make things work with the market leaders bcuz poor and no money :'

Jan, 24 Mar 2024I have 15 year old Bluetooth device that can connect with 1... moreI'd imaging the issue is not to do with bluetooth conenctivity and more about getting Apple's WatchOS and Android to talk to each other properly. With WatchOS on iOS they've baked that communication into iOS which makes things like replying to texts work whereas on Android it would presumably all need to be handled via an addiitonal app.
That said, I do still call BS on Apples claims that it wasn't technically possible. The likes of Samsung, Huawei and Garmin have all developed fairly fully fledged watch operating systems (altough samsung have since dropped Tizen) which managed to function once you've installed the relevant app and the accessory service.

I know Apple cheats but didn't realize they lie. They only failed because they wanted to control and lock us into their aco system as usual. Compliments of Steve jobs

Did they actually try or just don't want to? Android is opensource so it is much easier to make their device work on it & costs less while it's the opposite on crapple device w/c is closedsource & have to pay royalties so it costs more.

Create a file of apple capabilities on Android devices.
shelve it.
When the lawsuits hit,
break out the file,
with it's timestamp showing.

I have 15 year old Bluetooth device that can connect with 1.5 week old Android phone and everything in between.
But Mac, iPhone and watch? They only works with other Apple things.
It is not "technological limitations" it is Apple policy to lock in users.

Believe it still no 5g or any form of communication another strange thing is that Google and Apple have no AI in sight and thanks to open source they have something to show

Apple are laughable, they won’t even make it work with the iPad let alone Android phones! Purposely doing this to make people buy an iPhone.

Oh yeah, and TestFlight too. It used to be compatible with Android until Apple acquired Burstly, the developer of the app.

I mean, the fact that even Android phone makers can't make WeaOS watches work well with Android kinda excuses Apple of not achieving the goal. I've had Apple Watch 5 and it just worked sooooooooo much better than Galaxy Watch 4 that I have now. Not only it was way smoother, it was also much better connected with the phone (especially the switch off between BT connection and WiFi connection when watch wen out of phone's BT range). It's even more annoying when WearOS watches don't even work that well with Android and it's from the same damn company compared to cheap smartbands from Xiaomi that just seem to work so much better and be way less annoying. Like, notifications management on Smart Band 7 Pro from Xiaomi is so much better and ust straight forward where on Galaxy Watch I have to battle between notifications set on phone and notifications set on watch. WHY?!
Apple Watch was also WAY less annoying with its goals and motivation and other "health" related crap unlike Galaxy Watch that's constantly bothering me with it and if I turn off all Health notifications, I have no clue if it'll even warn me if my heart is acting wonky. I just don't know if it'll do its damn job.

DarlingYext, 23 Mar 2024Profits would be a lot less if they made it compatible with... moreNot sure if people buy the watch first. I think people mostly already have the iPhone and then they get the watch. It's pretty clear that the watch only works with an iPhone so if you choose to do this you know what you are getting into upfront.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2024I highly doubt it. Apple hasn't tried being compatible... moreI'll rectify this statement. Apple, since it's emerging, was allways crippeling anything not apple in both directions. Apple ecosystem or others ecosystems.

Lister, 24 Mar 2024This makes perfect sense despite the hate comments here. Ap... moreActually NOPE. Apple did not get rich from selling watches, nor phones, got rich from aftermarket. As you can see, even tough it seems like apple is selling trillion devices, the truth is, android smartphones are covering more then 80℅ of the smartphone sales, that's allot, and that is what apple is after. But letting that asside, actually, apple sales you a whatch, when you realise it does not work witha android, you buy a phone then a mac, then you buy subscriptions apps music then buy buy buy, and you still buy and buy again, till you realise that it is too late and you are locked in, then you become a fan(atic) because well, there is nothing left to do, but not only that. Even when you are an iphone user you cannot go and try android because either ypu have invested way to much money in the ecosystem or nothing that you have is workin properly on "the other side". Thei headphones might work with android because bluetooth, but there is a 100℅ chance that they are limiting this headphones when used with other devices then apple. In the same time, they will never let other brands bluettooth headphones to so sound better then the apple ones on IOS, so they are crippeling anything not aople on iphone. This accusations of "gatekeeping" are somehow hilarious, it is like telling them: hey you guys have a bitten apple as a loggo... Why? Because everybody knows. They are transparently and deliberly gatekeeping their ecosystem, enforcing anything apple on customer with absolutly no regards toward fair competition and the meaning of monopoly. Everything they claim now is a laugh in the face of the accuser.
