Used a Z Fold 5 for some 6 months, now S24 Ultra. I am looking to switch to Fold6 when it comes but my biggest hopes would be
1) Integrated S-pen like S24 (not gonna happen)
2) Non-retarded aspect ratio (i think rumors hinted towards this)
3) Usable front facing camera in tablet mode (fold5 is absolute dogshit in this regard)
4) S-pen support on cover screen as well
S24 Ultra is REALLY nice in almost every possible way, but I do miss the extra screen real estate of the Fold. However I dont miss that 1" wide cover screen that was horrible to use for anything.

Invetor, 25 Mar 2024bruh titanium is a scarce metal. Mining titanium is not ... moreNo no no, smartphone companies are totally environment friendly. It's why they dropped the charging brick (slash)joke

CopyKing, 25 Mar 2024No. Because Apple did it. So everyone is on the hype train.... moreThat's right. That's called brand equity and influence. Essential was a no name, and nobody cares about Xiaomi. So they can do something fancy (remember the Mi mix with all screen phone back and front?), but it won't influence the market nor the industry.
That's also why every cheap Android copies the iPhone camera look.

Catalin, 25 Mar 2024It's actually plastic in the case of Samsung, not even... moreNo. The frame itself, the one providing structure rigidity, is aluminum. The plastic is simply a buffer between the titanium cosmetic and the base frame, not the actual frame providing support.

bruh

Why are all smartphone companies making titanium phones? I think they do not care about the environment. They are doing this so that the phones made of titanium don't drop their price after a few years (because titanium is valuable, and will get even more valuable in the future)

Wow, tech bloggers still think these phones use titanium frame? Titanium on both iPhone 15 Pro and S24 Ultra are purely cosmetic. The actual frame itself is still aluminum.

"Tell me, wise leader. Where is the Apple's Z Fold6 (six!) "leadership" you claim Samsung is copying?" - Samsung copies Apple lol, they copy each other. For instance, When Apple removed the AC adapter (the brick for uneducated) from the iPhone 12, Samsung did the same for S21. Samsung rushed the titanium gimmick after Apple did, lol.
"Is the type of metal on the outer frame of a smartphone is the sign of Apple's leadership in TECHNOLOGY, your idol needs new leadership." - Apple is straight garbage. 60hz for 800 USD in 2024 is a moral crime and travesty. And no, they're not the leader in technology if they use Grade 5 titanium. Phones used titanium long ago, I think 2017-2019 but yea.
