Brilliant to limit the chip AI specs however majority does run off Google server for AI just like Samsung and Pixel phone.

Anil, 25 Mar 2024There is no non-pro A18. Just the A18 Pro for the iPhone 16... moreNot going to happen as it goes against Apple logic of "Pro being reserved for premium gears" & vanilla iPhones are not premium as per Apple.

Most likely A18 is going to be a watered down version of A18 Pro.
Binned silicon, smaller cache, slower CPU/GPU,inferior camera capabilities & AI abilities...anything is possibility as differentiating feature between A18 vs A18 Pro.

Krisbenea, 25 Mar 2024so what the use of npu on the a17? Basic machine learning routines, as it's been on past Apple silicon devices - Apple doesn't do AI, it only does marketing by throwing the word AI around.

So the A18 Pro will relay Google/OpenAI/Baidu stuff, but the A18 won't.

Got it, pay extra to support Apple's better-late-than-never AI 'strategy' and create a faux FOMO feeling for those without.

Samsung gave AI to all S24 models regardless of it being Snapdragon or Exynos CPU, they will also be giving some of the featurs to S23 series and S22 series. Apple as always restricting features so more people get the Pro versions, once again Apple fanboys dont mind paying premium prices and getting less.

                                Nothing new here

mrqss11, 25 Mar 2024Okay, so the vanilla models will be 60hz, no telephoto, no ... moreThe biggest draw on the regular iPhone will be 8GB of RAM. If you want LTPO, then you'll have to wait for another year, for the 2025 iPhone 17.

I've seen AI generative edits on the Samsung S24. That can easily wow consumers on a retail setting.
