It's not worth it for what it costs... there are more "ultra" phones with much better specifications* for me, if a phone doesn't come with an Ultrasonic fingerprint reader* periscope telephoto lens apart from 5x* battery no less than 5,400* QHD+ fast charging real.... Without those things it is not a device that is in the ultra range... The only ultra thing here is the price

Tbh, I'd just spend the extra €100 and get the ROG Phone 8.

Zenfones have just been okay for the last years. Not bad by any means, but after the price increased from my Zenfone 8, it got harder to recommend them. The one thing that made them stand out was their compact size. With that gone, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is just a mediocre phone in a sea of better phones

What do they expect from killing the main selling point of the Zenfone series? 🤷

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2024The negative aspect of Nothing phone 2a: - only having spl... moreFirst 2 are not even issue and majority of phones from middle class to flagship dont have them. Before smartphones we didnt even have any water or dust resistance on phones and majority of people probably also dont know or look for it on the phones.

Tech site commentators are the people who need it cause they take the phone to shower with them as even that 5-10 minutes of washing is too long to be off the screen for them. I dont see any reason phones must have water resistance and anyways water damage wont go under warranty so it's totally gimmick feature. I worked with water for years and my phones didnt have any resistance to water and all survived with no damage to them while phone was in wet pocket most of the time

Izumiyamura, 31 Mar 2024The size increase isn't a huge problem. The camera is.... moreDefinitely they should've gone with a OV64B 64MP sensor as it seems to be the trend in the industry, thanks to its stellar 2x lossless zoom functionality.

And I agree there should be more phones with 64MP primary cameras in order to pull double duty as a main and short tele camera as 64MP images have far more data to work on, unless we're talking about sensors with huge pixels a la the IMX989/LYT900 which do a fantastic 2x crop.

The size increase isn't a huge problem. The camera is. They dropped the 64MP (good 16MP and 2x sensor crop) for the usually shitty 50MP (12MP results), plus they also dropped camera quality overall since it's literally just a ROG phone now. Additionally, the 32MP sensor is dog shit because 8MP tele output is pathetic. They either should've allowed full 32MP results or go for a 64MP tele sensor like OnePlus 12.

Asus phones used to be really good on paper. But because of below average marketing and availability, lack of updates, they went downhill. The selling factor for last Zenfone was it's small size, awesome battery, headphone jack, and solid performance. Yeah it only promised 2 years of software updates, but allowed you to unlock bootloader. But they took it away, for all the phones, rendering then as e-waste. Now they have literary nothing to offer except the headphone jack, which I don't think would be enough, making it a hard pass.

They fail to realize there was nothing wrong with their precious phones in terms of hardware and form factor. Enthusiast loved it, and they'll buy and recommend it to others. All Asus had to do was fix the pricing and availability, and do promotions. But it's hard to recommend the phone is either not on sale anywhere, or it's selling for a very high price. They can keep changing designs and form factors, but until they fix the fundamentals, sales are going to be bad. RIP, Zenfone.

No it's an oversized piece of garbage.

Agreed. If you showed the Asus Zenfone 11 to a baby, it would probably cry.

Really, its only silver lining is the headphone jack.
