      Neither does sweep panoramas with their ultrawide lenses. It is as though cameraphones collectively lack the nerve to excel, to improve on the 2018 LG7 ThinQ that has two genuine 16MP sensors (not 12.5MP) one of which is behind a 35mm equivalent 16mm f1.9 lens and it does good ultrawide panoramas, up to 360 ones and possibly over 3500 pixels in height.
      Now, big deal, you may say, but this is imaging out of the box, out of that 4:3 or 3:2 or 16:9 fixed limited format that is of itself a stranglehold on free expression and creativity.
      Without good sweep panoramas you have to live in a box, you have to see and compose and visualize in a box you are stuck with the confines of whereas it is possible that not just phones, but all mirrorless cameras can and should possess the same abilities at high resolution that the old LGs have.
      Since their recent machines all have better sensors and far more advanced graphics and hardware processors, WHY by all that is useful, dont these two flagship machines offer what I can buy secondhand for a twentieth of their cost?
      I would love the Xiaomi, especially with its grip and filter ring (s) but it cannot even match the Mi Note 10's 25MP main cam quality at all on any of its lenses and neither can the Samsungs, and they make the 108MP sensor that Xiaomi use in their Mi Note 10 machines. So even if you have no interest in sweep panoramas their older models offer far better still quality: the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 is up there with the 25MP available on the iPhone 15 Pro series, but it is still better as it interpolates down to exactly half what the 108MP sensor has.

        And not everybody switching from old samsung to new. Someone could have Apple as their last phone or Motorola etc.

              Samsungs "deals" are just marketing tricks to make you think you're getting good deals when in reality their devices are on average more expensive than other competitive companies, charge stupid prices for contracted devices and dont include equipment/accessories all other companies include (my 2nd hand find x5 came with its original charger and designer case, literally £80 worth of extras in the box, samsung will use them in "deals" with far lower valued accessories and throw expensive extras like smart watches to make you spend that little bit more).

Distributor and 3rd party stores got their wares at cheaper bulk discount so it's only natural most of them sells cheaper than buying directly from manufacturers.
                      That's why Samsung sells special, store-exclusives colours, so people buy their higher margin wares. Said colours aren't sold to 3rd parties.

                        I noticed weird colours in S24U's first 2x photo sample (at the perforated steel, like yellow and green? I don't think I've seen this before).

                        Also 3rd party charger problem in Samsung is real and annoying, about 30% slower with PD-compliant GaN charger, though I remember someone said Samsung use different charging standard than PD however said standard is already incorporated to the latest PD so could it be that they artificially limit the charging so you but their genuine charger?

I personally prefer it over MIUI/HyperOS, given that there are no ads in it, but there might be something really bad about OriginOS, or FunTouchOS, that I haven't noticed.

                                    Thank you so much GSMArena for doing this detailed comparison between these 2 awesome phones, i was a bit sad when i had to buy the s24 ultra without knowing xiamo 14 ultra camera capabilities (they didnt have it in stores for testing) so went ahead with the s24 ultra, it is amazing how the ultrawide of the s24 ultra keeps up so well against the xiaomi, in some specific scenarios it even comes on top, as for the main camera, it's no brainer, even though you guys claimed at 2x digital zoom the xiaomi looks better, imho the 2x digital zoom looks far more detailedo n the s24 ultra.

                                    The only scenario where the main camera of the s24 ultra actually looses is at night, it semms the galaxy s24 ultra on auto doesnt always kick in the night mode, so if you toggle it by yourself it will actually produce far better pictures!
                                    In every other scenario, the xiaomi 14 ultra 50mp main cam is no match for the 200mp cam of the galaxy!

                                    The 3x cam on the galaxy is the only dissapointing one, hopefully a software update will correct it's flaws and close the gap between the xiaomi's 3.2x cam...

                                    All in all both are wonderful phones for taking pictures in any possible scenario!

                                      I still think last year's predecessor of each phone is still a better buy. After all, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is just a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with built-in generative AI engines. I'll wait for their respective successors with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 as it will divert away from Arm and will use Nuvia custom CPU.
