Honestly would take Xiaomi 14 ultra anytime a day oer Samsung S24 ultra.
To me its better in every single aspect and the new yper OS is fantastic over a bloatware filled One UI. Since i swap phones every 2 year it does not matter for me whether the phone have 7 years of updates or no. 7 years old device have zero value and is difficult to sell even for 50 bucks because since you cant updage hardware phone will be strugling with latest apps and games of that time. Not interested in phone which takes eons to runs facebook, tik tok or match masters. Not to mention it wouldnt run genshin impact anymore, diablo immortal or forza motosport.
Lastly here in Slovakia 14 ultra Xiaomi cost from 1215 euros in Slovakia.

In any way Xiaomi is cheaper because in 30 eur more price user gets genuine screen protector, charger and case. While Samsung gives nothing and genuine screen protexctor, charger and case is another 100.
So xiaomi is very easy winner and is obviously better.

You are posting the rate of 14 Ultra in pounds, while in reality in India it's 99999, which is still less than the s24 ultra 256 gb variant, all these features at a lower price, clearly Xiaomi is the winner

I just don't agree with how Xiaomi has locked down their bootloader and now asking people to pay to unlock it.
Also this feels like a bad comparison since the S24 Ultra has a Bluetooth Spen and 14 Ultra doesn't so it's not really a competition.

Samsung camera are just capable. Low light performance are not the best Though video sound is one of the best.
But when you are paying top dollar (as close iphone pro max), do you expect just that? While iphones have been leading in both still and video, it seems like samsung has fallen alot.

According to gsamrena Huwaei has same IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 6m for 30 min) like Apple.

The 14 ultra didn't exceed because of its software. As we Xiaomi phone owners have said, Xiaomi sells great hardware but mediocre software. Unlike other phones where they keep updating and fixing their camera processing software, Xiaomi rarely does that. They sell their phone and move on to the next.

Samsung's 10x is kind of a joke now. You'd think considering the S24U uses a 200MP sensor and a 50MP tele that the 10x digital would look better than Xiaomi's, but Xiaomi's is somehow better. Some details may look a little artificial but I'll take that over Samsung's 10x that kind of falls apart the more you look at details.

It has a good main camera, good ultrawide and a 3x telephoto and 5x periscope and one of the better selfie cameras. That is one of the best camera systems. Basically, among the current generation of flagships so far, it's only the s24 ultra, the Xiaomi 14 ultra and the Oppo find x7 ultra that offer similar systems with the medium and longer range zoom options. Maybe you could include the Vivo x100 pro too although it only has the one telephoto but it kind of makes up for that with the quality of the telephoto and Vivo's prowess in image processing. Personally, I'd go for the Oppo find x7 ultra among all these for cameras though as I think it has the most natural image processing of the 3.

I have to agree that camera samples look very close but:
* SGS24U's Ultrawide camera produces consistently better results (sharper, more details) including in low light.
* It also has a better selfie camera despite its lower res.
* Xiaomi 14U has a better 10x zoom if you ever need one but then I'm not sure it's possible to properly use it without a tripod.
Overall if you have the money to buy 'em, you can buy either.

Xiaomi 14 ultra if it didn't have miui with another name, which is all Xiaomi has done... call it something else and that's it... it's exactly the same with the same problems! one Ui, it's Horrible* there's only stock android left, which is my favorite but it's exynos with another name on the pixel... let's see if Sony improves its software and polishes it a little more now that they are going to leave the air conditioning remote format
