Winlee, 03 Apr 2024If performance is the thing that most matters in a smartpho... moreThe Poco F5 certainly sold well because of its performance. The primary camera is rubbish, despite what GSMA claimed.
However, Motorola is one of the few who OEMs who offers decent all-round devices in the mid to upper midrange segment. I hope it improves its camera processing with this generation, and I also wish that the curved displays would disappear. I'm hoping at least that the Edge 50 Fusion's curved display will be more subtle, just as the 30 Fusion's is.
I'd buy a Motorola over the A35 or A54/55 any day of the week.

Gaia, 03 Apr 2024what th you are talking about? UFS 2.2 is slower than 3.1, ... moreDon't bother with these spec dummies. They want each and every high end feature even on a mid range phone. My phone has UFS 2.2 and it's fine for every day use and probably for most users that aren't into very heavy tasks on their phones. So this moto will still serve well for most users, and some are comparing the with X6 Pro which is just illogical
The lack of 3.1 is a con, but it's been severely blown out of proportion by some Android buyers that, as I mentioned, want everything for less that $400 bucks. Their real issue is affordability, and the chipset / spec obsession

Gaia, 03 Apr 2024what th you are talking about? UFS 2.2 is slower than 3.1, ... moreUFS 2.1/2.2 may have been acceptable in early 2020, but it isn't in a device at such price in 2024. Of course UFS 2.1/2.2 is still fine, at least on devices under $250.

phooone, 03 Apr 2024How is Moto better overall? The thing that's matters m... morewhat th you are talking about? UFS 2.2 is slower than 3.1, of course, but you make it look like it's the old EMMC from 2015. I have an LG V60 that used to be my daily driver, and UFS 2.1 is still acceptable. Same with other devices with UFS 2.1 that still work flawlessly nowadays. All Poco phones are made for people who only want performance at the cost of camera quality and building materials. This one sacrifices performance in favor of getting a device with premium materials and cameras above the average (It would be nice to have UFS 3.1 though). It's up to you if you prefer performance or camera/materials.

Majority of users look for other features
You're one of those processor geeks, so outright performance is everything to you. But not for all

phooone, 03 Apr 2024How is Moto better overall? The thing that's matters m... moreIf performance is the thing that most matters in a smartphone then, why doesn't ROG 8 Pro sell so good even though it beats every smartphone's AnTuTu score on the market.
If you say you can ignore the 125W charging, the same could be said that, ignore the UFS2.2.
I believe smartphone is an experience, and there should exist atleast some phones in the market that give a well rounded experience to user instead of just running behind numbers.
This time Motorola nailed in delivering a very well made phone at a good price point. It's been a long time, since I saw a good set of cameras in this price segment. May be 1 or 2 phones launched with a telephoto camera (that too 2x) in this price range.
There is nothing wrong in having a phone with just a good processor, but just claiming performance is everything and dissing other smartphones launching in market is a very bad approach.
When has android became just numbers game. The best aspect of the android market, is the wide array of options it offers to consumers.

Metal frame... moreHow is Moto better overall? The thing that's matters most in a smartphone is performance. UFS 2.2 is laughably bad.
Poco X6 Pro is too ridiculously faster in both processor and storage at a lesser price. You can ignore the 125W charging of Moto and get much faster experience overall in actually using the phone.
The curved screen is also deal breaker if one is bothered by side reflections and high repair cost.

I bet this phone may be rebranded as Edge 50 for other markets.
While the " 50 Fusion" becomes 50 Neo.
There is no way Motorola can fit 3 more Edge variants within price range of this Pro and G84.
