Not really surprised by this to be honest, after seeing they had added an ‘AI’ premium tier to Google One. Possibly, they look to add it as part of that, after upping the price of course…..
Monetising these fancy new ‘AI’ features will likely be common in the not too distant future I reckon, Samsung have already said they plan to start charging, and I’d bet whatever Apple are cooking up will come with a cost…somewhere.

Most people I know stopped using even the "free" Google search a long time ago, so I wonder if there are enough people to make this profitable. Oh well, yet another future was killed by google products.

Google search is has gone bad in recent years, he takes more data from you than offers. I switched to DuckDuckGo long time ago. They can charge but nobody will use it.
