But what did the update contain? Only a security patch. The only update since then that wasn't just a security patch was the update from MIUI to hyper OS. Personally, I don't care about slow updates but I do want updates that actually do improve the phone like camera optimisations and so on. Security patches make no difference to me. My previous phone the Motorola edge s was also slow for updates but every update that came actually brought huge changelogs with major improvements. I remember, in particular that the camera was optimised in every single update and there were big improvements to the ready for desktop mode. The other Chinese brands I've used have definitely been much better for updates. I will probably change my phone at the end of the year and would still consider Xiaomi or Redmi, if they have a phone that I really like at the time but I will make sure I am happy with the phone after the first few days if I buy one (especially the cameras and signal as that is what I care most about). If not I'll just return it within the 7 day return window as I wouldn't be holding out for any major software improvements in the future based on my current experience especially major camera updates.

All depends on the price really. Has to be cheaper than the snapdragon 8 gen 2 phones in China or there is no point. The 8s gen 2 and 7+ gen 3 only have 4mb L3 system cache whereas the snapdragon 8 gen 2 has 8mb L3 system cache which seems to be where Qualcomm made some cuts as well as the weaker GPUs. Xiaomi has already allowed the Chinese reviewers to release the performance videos of the Redmi turbo 3 today and it performs about 7-10% better than the snapdragon 7+ gen 3 (compared to Oneplus ace 3v) but it is also weaker than the snapdragon 8 gen 2. Therefore I think 1,999rmb should be the maximum they launch it for given the snapdragon gen 2 phones at full retail price (they can be bought for cheaper) with better build and better main cameras are 2,299rmb (Iqoo 9) and 2,399 (Redmi k70). If the price is more than 1,999rmb it makes more sense to just go for the better snapdragon 8 gen 2 phones.

Damn is that camera bump ugly, worse looking than Note 12 Turbo.

Anders, 08 Apr 2024Xiaomi - this series is focused on performance so don'... moreAll phones have massive rings for cameras while being trash cameras. From what ever brand that is

Xiaomi - this series is focused on performance so don't expect good cameras

Also Xiaomi - MASSIVE CAMERA RINGS FOR CRAPPY CAMERAS!!!!

Just putting a high end chipset with no relevant hardware to utilise the full functionality of the chipset and without seamless software experience is useless....cameras already seem trash with useless 8mp or 2mp macro

Seems like this wont have 3.5mm jack so if that is important then it's still good to buy Poco F5 as F6 will be rebrand of this Turbo 3

""The phone will also be extremely thin and light with a profile that's under 8 mm and a 179-gram body. ""

Well the F5 was also under 8mm and 181g so it wont feel any different

Is this going to have a back fingerprint sensor. That third black dot on the back with the flash around it doesn't looks like a camera.

I remember when Xiaomi used to be good with MIUI updates, even if it was poor with monthly patches and android version updates. Now it's just poor at everything. There are months between updates, no optimisation, and no bugs are fixed. There's no sign of HyperOS for the new Redmi Note 13 Pro. It's April and its last update was in January.
