Konrad Lorenz, 11 Apr 2024Well, I'm not in Brazil, but currently using a G54 as ... moreI would also keep it if I had one, but at the same time, everytime I see my father's Moto G7 Plus, I wonder if Motorola will do well-rounded phones like it again one day.
On the other hand, premium midranges and flagships from Moto are amazing, period. I'v used a G200 for some weeks and an Edge 20 and both are fantastic. I wish I could get an Edge 20 Pro as secondary phone because I prefer telephoto camera over ultrawide or macro.

If they really wanted to improve this model the least they could have done was replace the IPS display for an OLED one.
This is a joke and waste of time

People usually sells them and get, guess what? Samsung and Apple.

Petri S, 11 Apr 2024I read a long time Moto G series user's article: "... moreAre you telling me that the display of the Poco M4 pro was the closest to an oled? It couldn't be further away from an OLED display in terms of black value which is 0.70 I rarely see such a bleeding display, moto G54's current LCD actually is not bad - decent deltaE deviations, 1500+ contrast ratio, black value is less than 0.4

Motorola gets trampled by every other brand on lower and midrange categories because of phones like this, which is sad.
Motorola killed G series years ago and a zombie that refuses to die in peace.

I read a long time Moto G series user's article: "How Motorola destroyed its G-series". This G64 shows how true it is. Everything is identical to G54 except a minor change in CPU. G54 (EU model) was quite disappointing. I bought it cheap, the 4/128 model and positive was only design vegan leather finish which made it possible to use without a case, and Motorola's own great UI. Same LCD panel comes to G64 and it's not a good one! Yes, I've had LCD panels in the past and G54 is the worst of them. Best LCD panel by far was on Poco M4 Pro 5g (feels like an Oled), after that Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, Nokia 6.2. Another disappointing fact is that G54 stutters a lot, it can't be the CPU which is good enough, it has to be 4 GB memory which isn't enough in 2023-24 to run smoothly. Main camera 50mp with OIS can actually take some decent shots, but video was disappointing and no ultrawide lens makes no sense, focusing doesn't work at all if trying 2-3x zoom with photos/videos. Same now then coming to G64. Motorola also just published a G04 - I wonder who will buy that one? Motorola should make a complete turn with it's G series! Like this it's just dreadful. I suggest a 3 models lineup instead, make them better every year and give them longer and better software support as well. G54 is of course still on old Android 13 and now it's 11.4.2024 and updates says "you're on latest update 1.1.2024". Yes, Motorola has no bugs, which is great, and no malware, but malware on an Android I have never heard of anyone ever getting malware, have you guys? But still,.Motorola has competition in Samsung and many other Chinese brands and Motorolas update promises are now the worst of all. Motorola should make better decisions and a new much better G series, as things are now Moto G series is dead to me.
