Weekly poll: is the Samsung Galaxy M55 the right mid-ranger for you?

14 April 2024
With some impressive specs that stand out even with the S-series in the background (and some less impressive stats), the M55 has a lot of potential.

A solid or viable upgrade from Galaxy a73 tbh despite the dubious chipset tbqh. Not going to be picky so long it's not mediatek and have SD card slot.

The Moto edge 50 pro is leagues better than this phone.

Never, until Samsung makes a Mediatek 8000 series, Snapdragon 8 or 7+ series SoC for around $300 I won't choose Samsung. In 2024 also unacceptable with slow charging, UFS 2.2 which is probably still mostly in the A or M series and without charging in the box. I also wanted the A35 to use a more powerful SoC but it doesn't.

I'm okay with other smartphones with weaker SoCs than the ones I mentioned because other brands' software is more optimized.

A55 midranger Flagship considering it's premium offer:

                  1. 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches
                  2. ₹ 2564.05 for 2nd year warranty
                  3. IP67 dust/water resistant
                  4. Knox Security and Wallet
                  5. Low SAR radiation range

so my birdie will not get radiation burnt like the worry raised by high radiation banned iPhone 12 at French earlier?

Like 99% of the devices on the market, it's just too big for me. Would love to see true compact devices back in the midrange segment.

No detailed specifications like ram version, storage type and display version. No one will buy blindly.

Why Samsung deliberately makes their phones with outdated chipsets?

While this is surely a more well-rounded phone than the A55, Nothing Phone 2a sure still is a better buy.

The chipset is the worst thing about this phone. Could've been better
