      It's basically a Leica-fied Sharp Aquos R8s Pro.

        They've already destroyed their rep by slapping Leica branding on mediocre camera phones. So there's no reason people should buy it for that. And that should be the only reason people would ever buy this trash with an out of date SoC.

        Also y'all say "but did you know it also makes mechanical watches and that there are Leica branded smartphones? Not just co-branded ones, but solely Leica branded devices."

        But then a few sentences later: "and like the previous models it's made by Sharp"

        You make it sound like it's not just a rebranded Sharp phone. They might not sell this phone under the Sharp name but it's still a Sharp phone with the brand changed to Leica.

          I'm using a phone from 2019 with 12gb ram.....also to launch a phone with gen 2 when gen 3 is the latest and gen 4 is on the way seems a mistake. It will be interesting to see how much the Leica costs.

It can humiliate phones with imx989/... moreGlass is only slightly more transparent than plastic - It won't allow RX100 V with older-gen image processing or RX100 VII with a very dim lens to magically become competitive with smartphones with a type 1 sensor when shooting standard wide angle shots.

                  Miss those days when camera smartphones don't look like oreo cookies was strapped on a phone. Maybe single sensor with triple lens capabilities should be worked on next.

If you take a look at the current smartphone market, it's pretty obvious that nowadays everyone seems to care about the camera hump just as much as they do about the lack of headphone jack, i.e. nobody gives a shit.

                              This is just Sharp Aquos R8 with the different name.. And yes, this should be launch in the late 2023.. With Aquos R9 around the corner, I wonder if it will effect the price.. The previous two Leitz were pretty expensive.

                                It's interesting that they stuck to the same weird 19mm equivalent lens for the main camera (Well, there's actually only one to begin with) as Aquos R6 or R7 that this phone is based on. They purely meant it as a landscape shooter and nothing else, since it's significantly wider than 24mm and by the time you get to a "standard" FL with a centre crop, you would lose a lot of pixels to capture an adequate amount of details anyway.

                                      I would hope that photos taken from this phone will look much less processed than your typical Samsung and Pixel photos. That 1-inch sensor can do wonders.
