Mistral, 14 Apr 2024Why are all the good tablets massive :/On the manufacturer side, its much easier to fit in the good hardware into a larger frame, and for the consumer side, most consumers buy tablets as a media consumption device, so they typically want a larger screen.

The S8 and the A9+ genuinely tempts me.
The 8/128 version of the A9+ has everything I want except a faster processor, for the inevitable bloating of apps in the future. If I could get it for less I might just buy it.
The S8 is extremely good all around except for the glaring omission of a headphone jack (why is this a thing on tablets?). The price fair for the 8 Gen 1, nearly beating iPads in price/performance.

Only thing worth getting is the OnePlus Pad. It beats S6 Lite, A9 duo and S9 FE duo in 1 swoop and is 400 bucks. It has 144hz panel, still LCD but has HDR10+, 1B colors and D9000. You can also buy the Stylo if you want or some 3rd party tool, lmao.
Honorable mention to Tab S8. The 8G1 inside of it is faster in AnTuTu 10 but 8G1 (by multiple sources) does overheat. I got flammed for "spreading BS" so I have to clarify. It does have 2 OS updates left and comes with a stylus, yay! Used Tab S7+ with AMOLED is worth mentioning.
If you need to buy the Fire Max 11 (research benchmarks and reviews) then get the 128GB option. 64GB on a tablet is worrisome.
Ditch iPad 8, A12 is aging fast and with iPadOS 18 and iOS 18 around the corner, its gonna start showing it's age even more. Yes, I do own an A12-based device (iXR). iPad 10 is okay. A14, more RAM and USB-C is good enough but for 350, that's the best you're gonna get. S9 FE does have a larger screen but E1380 is no match for an old flagship chip (used on iPhone 12).
If you have the money, S9+ maybe for you. Maybe so, maybe not. Just read/watch reviews.
Cool DJI drone though
