It's really good see apple get rightfully sued for this a law should be in forced by default really the idea problem's the take everything out of the box and away from the customer is honestly a form of abuse and greed by apple
I don't think they will ever learn there lesson as popular brands are just too rich and as most people don't think for themselves and buy what's popular a herd mentality problem everyone what's fit in the problem of finding a compatible changer and forgetting too factor this into the price of the phone is going lead too people waiting too being unable too use a multi tool as important as a phone
Definitely should always mention this fact that the android market is damaged as a result of apple bad influence on the market as most android Brand's always copy's Samsung & apple and there bad habits

This is kind of a retort about "Why did you declare independence in 1783?"
A certain individual of a high position with the initials R.S. approved of this

DVSeal, 13 Apr 2024Their market value of trillions is speculative, not represe... moreI know that but even if the value is only representative, for sure, one billion is nothing. It could still result in a compromise that is probably more in favour to them than to the developers that filed the complaint. The USB-C wasn't that big of a move as other devices from the Apple family already had this connector. Look at the EU law that obliged them to allow other stores and payment methods, they made sure that it isn't at all interesting to do so and that is also what the EU stated. The EU stated that the latest release allowing such thing over in the EU isn't compliant to what was requested. Android is facing the same issue by the way so it's not me bashing on Apple (I don't have Apple products, I just think that they are too restrictive and much too expensive with regards to the actual real value).

It's not even spending money to them. Most probably the cost for the lawyers is higher than the fine meaning that they can fight whatever comes their way, especially with such meaningless (to them) lawsuits.

DeepIn2U, 15 Apr 2024You are INCORRECT!
DO some research please.Without Xcode you can't deploy Mac os app in app store. You cannot build iOS app without Xcode.
Xcoee is Mac only.
Next question?

potato4k, 14 Apr 2024So what's failing? You still have not specified what i... moreI never said that capitalism isn't great, or that I wished to have a non-capitalist system. But a failure to split up monopolies due to weak antitrust law and a lack of will to use it to prevent monopolies is what is causing capitalism right now to fail. You might not be literally locked in, in that you can use an alternative platform, but you are absolutely being prevented from doing whatever you like with your device on almost all platforms.
Things like e-fuses, TPM and IME prevent you from doing whatever you like, and thus stopping you from truly owning what you've bought, on a hardware level.
On the software side, you've got issues like non-unlockable bootloaders, forced closed-ecosystems like Apple's disallowal of alternative app stores, etc.
When it comes to social media platforms, you've got gigantic closed ecosystems that all intentionally fail to protect their users from scambots while going after legitimate users for their opinions and violating their freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Oh no, someone's feelings were hurt, let's remove that, but let's not care about our platform being used to spread actual threats of violence against a group of people in order to spread genocide. And they're all not only run by the same kinds of power-hungry autocrats, with all of them even censoring things on behalf of governments' illegitimate wishes, but they also seek to control people's opinions for a number of reasons, ranging from removing dislike against them, to other things.

Darth Caesium, 14 Apr 2024Outlined in my comment you just replied to. It's faili... moreSo what's failing? You still have not specified what indicators that indicated capitalism failing.
Are we deprived of technology? On the contrary, innovations keep going with even better SoCs competing for performance per watt, multiplying increase in NPU performance, etc. Today's $200 phone is much much better than $200 phone 10 years ago. Multiple companies are still competing.
Locked ecosystem? Nobody's being literally locked. Sure, there's high friction to exit, but people can still exit any ecosystem they want to. Want to exit Apple ecosystem? Even Google is guiding you, so it's possible https://youtu.be/-DZ9zZHCRHw
Capitalism is great. All the innovations come from capitalist society.

Darth Caesium, 13 Apr 2024I have a better reason why capitalism is failing: weak anti... moreReagan was a good person, he just wasn't a good president. It's because he was optimistic, and somewhat naive. His government definitely listened to the wrong people, the lobbyists, and it hurt the real people.
The worst was Nixon. The seeds were planted before Nixon, but he was the one that grew roots. Cause of the root issues is.... It's actually money. Like the real actual thing. Currency. That is in core. Antitrust and other things are still central but they're secondary.
What happened is that the USA imposed a, and get this, a TEMPORARY shift of the USD off from the gold standard. It had zero backing. They sold this lie to the public in terms of "fiat currency" and they scare-mongered people into saying it was going to be the collapse of USA if they did not do that. What they really meant to say is that the growing recession was cause d by the elites, and they wanted a new form of doing business. Artificial inflation without limits. People never are told, or educated, that recessions are a good thing. They are reality smacking the graph charts of speculative assets, and bringing their value down to realistic levels. Ergo a correction.
With the USD going fiat, it means the elites can slowly but surely print new money. And they give this money to themselves and their friends. At least first. Some of it trickles down to the masess. But the bulk are used to convert assets from the less fortunate to the wealthy. Hence the phenomenon of rich getting richer. Without a hard limit, such as gold, it's allowed these less-than-moral people to do what they liked.

potato4k, 14 Apr 2024How is capitalism failing? Outlined in my comment you just replied to. It's failing because of monopolies who are stifling competition and setting the prices to be as high as they want, locking you into ecosystems with no choice to leave, stifling your freedom of expression and freedom of speech through censorship based on their own beliefs, etc. These things would not have happened 90-120 years ago.
