[deleted post]Because they're a pack of wolves preying on smaller and weaker countries.

Bravosixgoingdark, 15 Apr 2024They were on top for only few months and the sanctions only... moreHow did they get greedy? They were consistently innovating and providing top of the line phones. Now ofc their prices are higher without outstanding hardware but if it were any other company, the sanctions wouldve ended them. Huawei is just temporarily set back. Besides harmonyos is shaping up to be a fantastic and smooth os and their cameras are better than ever

    PS they do have 5g

David 040882, 15 Apr 2024On one side, I agree. Huawei's prices are way too high... moreThe Kirin chipset is 5G compatible. Now that Huawei can produce their processors, they're not going to go back and use Qualcomm's because Qualcomm processors lack 5G.

The US play of forcing Huawei to purchase 5G-less Qualcomm processors is over.

[deleted post]They pretty much are allies with every major country, with exception of China and Russia which got more to loose then gain by sanctioning them in same way west did to Russia.

Never had more than 27% of their sales outside China

yalim, 15 Apr 2024that golden era ended by P30. I was a potential P30 buyer b... moreTheir flagship prices before restrictions were not excessive. No more than other top brands at the time. Actually they were probably a bit cheaper than the likes of Samsung and Apple. They were also cheaper than the likes of what companies like Xiaomi are charging nowadays in Europe for their top flaships like the Xiaomi 13 ultra and 14 ultra. I think very few people outside of China are going to buy Huawei nowadays due to the hardware and software restrictions but the reality is their new Kirin chips now cost a lot more to manufacture than the snapdragon 8 gen 3 so they have higher costs too. They basically can't offer cheaper phones because of the weaker chip because that weaker chip costs a lot more than the snapdragon 8 gen 3. That's just a reality. Therefore they are limited to selling their phones in China to those that want to support the brand and their technological achievements.

David 040882, 15 Apr 2024On one side, I agree. Huawei's prices are way too high... moreHUGE HUAWEI fan too, but without GMS services it's impossible to use if you're not in China 🤷🏻‍♂️. Of course, if you're some kind of "extremist" and don't want Google, it's possible anywhere 😄.
And don't write about "GBox" , "GSpace" and similar nonsense - they don't do the job 😐.

Can't wait to see how good the P70 Ultra will be 😆

sayabosanhidup, 15 Apr 2024it will reign again in the future or perhaps very soon or ... more....yeah, I guess, but I'm more than positive than the P70 Pro/Pro+'s optical zoom image quality will be better overall then the P40 Pro+'s

                        The legend returns 🔥🔥🔥

David 040882, 15 Apr 2024To remind you that Huawei was once on top, with Samsung and... moreThey were on top for only few months and the sanctions only accelerated their drop. Huawei used to make great phones that had better specifications for the price than the Samsungs they were competing against but down the line they got greedy and started to price their device's higher but still didn't improve specs to match the increase. The lack of 5g and below average performance of their recycled chipsets only worsened it

They can charge high prices as people in china will buy them anyway. Only their watches (and maybe laptops) are worth getting outside of china. Though the Honor magic book 16 Pro is much better with the 4060 gpu

yalim, 15 Apr 2024that golden era ended by P30. I was a potential P30 buyer b... moreOn one side, I agree. Huawei's prices are way too high, especially when keeping in mind the lack of GMS and 5G, yet you can't deny that they've continued to innovate despite the many limitations and challenges that they've faced and they still offer possibly the best camera setups on smartphones these days. Take Apple's iPhones, for example. There's barely any innovation done there lately, yet the prices add a little more each year to the eye-watering demand. I'm not trying to justify Huawei's high price tags, but it's worth recognizing that innovation comes at a cost and given the fact that you can access Google Play Services on a Huawei through GBox, I wouldn't hesitate on choosing a Huawei rather than an iPhone. 5G is anyways pretty much a gimmick and I mostly have 4G anywhere I go, with it being just fast enough and if Huawei does make some advancements in SoC production and bring some more up to date performing chipsets, then I'd be more than happy with a Huawei, since I'm not a heavy gamer/power user anyways. But that, of course, is just my opinion and I'm more of an exception, since most customers will prefer a better-rounded overall package, while I'm more than fine without 5G and with GBox Google Play Services accessing or with a Snapdragon 888+/8 Gen 1-level performing chipset

I was a potential P30 buyer before they increased it's price tag by 50% 4 months after it was launched. Good sales made Huawei so greedy that, they just wanted more profit from the same device. I am a consumer and I mark what I see in market, not what it would have been in a parallel universe. I see Huawei as a very expensive flagship despite having it's defects since P40. Since they have those limitations, they must have priced it much lower than proper flagships. As a result, no one was interested in using a crippled device with premium price tag. Huawei's greed and ignorance put them in where they are now.

yalim, 15 Apr 2024it is just a local brand in China. worths nothing anywhere else.Huawei own most of 5G patent
5.5G 10Gbps/1Gbps also made possible by Huawei
And Huawei is the leader in 6G.

China 5.5G advanced is mostly Huawei.
