YouTube's crackdown on ad blockers expands to third-party apps

Pretty soon there will be nowhere to watch ad-free YouTube if you don't subscribe to Premium.

youtube creators can still gain money from its donations like patreon or kofi, their excuses on ads is just a nothingburger.
are they trying to turn youtube into cable TV?

I rather support revanced rather than youtube. Unless i can remove shorts, you might also like, people also watch, and breaking news.

Good luck, i won't pay for Premium.
I may aswell move to TikTok 😆

Ahahahahah keep dreaming, Google. Let's see how you enforce this in Europe without violating our privacy laws.

Also... You want us to pay 8,50€/month for YouTube? Then maybe make it not garbage.
Make the app not garbage, make shorts removable, make sure NOT ADS EVER play, make sure you have sponsorblock capabilities (If I pay for the subscription, I shouldn't be forced to put up with your creator's extra-YouTube sponsors), make sure you're NOT CENSORING people... You know. Make your service not garbage overall.

The only reason many of us use YouTube is because you have a monopoly and pretty much hold your creators ransom. It's not because we like you.

"YouTube emphasizes that its terms don't allow third-party apps to turn off ads "because that prevents the creator from being rewarded for viewership, and Ads on YouTube help support creators and let billions of people around the world use the streaming service"."

And when YouTubers get demonetised, their videos still have ads. Explain that?

Anyway, there are still a lot of ones that YouTube gotta get past. Brave, Adblock Ultimate, etc.
Especially Revanced, YouTube isn't bothering to take it down somehow.

Long live Revanced. Google can't stop you.

Brave, Opera GX and uBlock Origin are our best friends. I understand that content creators need ads to create content but damn, don't monetize everything you see, Google.

Doing math (Yearly revenue divided by 12 and divide result by 30), Google made about 850 MILLION United States Dollars. (real figure is 848,972,222) everyday day in 2023.

Every hour in 2023, they made 35,340,000 million dollars (real figure is 35,373,842). Do they really need ads? No. They can easily pay off eligible YouTubers.

Google doesn't know how to please users. All they do is monetize on anything they can.

If you say we can't, we will.

Don't be pessimistic. There always will be a place to watch YT without ads. Those greedy crooks cannot stop us all!

Just let thumbnail play. You can use sound and subtitles. No ads show up.

Keep trying, Google. We won't stop.

Google makes enough money from the people that don't know how to block ads. Leave us smart people alone to use uBlock Origin on our computers and NewPipe on our phones.

Just hoping that it won't take long for Revanced to get a workaround if they get caught

In phones and computers ad blockers work fine. But in fire tv adguard dns doesn't work for youtube. I use chrome coupled by adblock plus for computers and opera with built in adblock for phones.
