HMD is such a trash company. That horrid Unisoc T606 shouldn't have even been released. HMD likes third-world phones it seems. I guess waiting for them to make a good midrange phone is a fantasy. I wanted to buy one made in Europe with privacy features not found in the US. I guess I'll look elsewhere. What a waste of Earth's resources.

Zyx, 18 Apr 2024Only explaination that makes sense.. They launched few crap... moreCompletely agree with you. The reason why Nokia phones under HMD failed is exactly that. Cheap devices, even if well build, is not what most people want. Starting with again a cheap phones with a utterly bland design without any trace of own identity is not what will make people warm for a new brand. When I saw some drawings of designs that HMD has "secured" I was kind of happy and eager to see these materialize but sadly enough it's again a pile of crap where other brands already have a shitload of these ready to be sold. Don't get me wrong, it's not the fact that it will be an affordable phone but mainly that you don't start as a new brand with such a device that is, on top of being very basic, also very boring. This phone could have been a basic Redmi phone or an entry Motorola or Oppo...

It's a dead on arrival device. HD+ display, garbage SoC and many more shortcomings at a steep price. What they are thinking? That the world is still in 2007?

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2024Time to stop odm phones from Foxcomm/FIH.
All phone maker... moreThese phones aren't from Foxconn.
In fact, Foxconn has withdrawn investment from HMD precisely because they got tired of losing money with them. They now only manufacture a few select dumbphones for HMD because they're the only ones that actually deliver a little profit.

Minu, 16 Apr 2024Do you think that a brand name that only survives because o... moreYou have zero idea of how much the Nokia brand was respected and beloved even after Microsoft sunk their mobile division.
Yes,HMD is the responsible for the utter destruction of the Nokia brand. And the proof is in the numbers.
When HMD launched and released the first Nokia phones, people all over the world (except, as usual, 'muricans) got excited with the prospect of getting Nokia phones - known for quality, innovation and great cameras - now with Android.
They bought their phones even though the first waves were hardly interesting phones. In the first couple of years, HMD outsold Google's garbage iPhone-wannabes, despite being a "start-up".
Then people realised HMD would not be delivering on ANY of Nokias hallmarks. Not only that, they weren't making the slightest effort to do it.
As a result, their sales crashed and burned and with them the Nokia brand.

Minu, 17 Apr 2024Ironic how the Nokia G11 Plus from the same ckmpany itself ... moreG11 Plus doesn't have what seems to be an OLED display though (the Pulse renders suggest that's the case because of the bezels that look similar to the ones on Redmi's Note 12 Pro 5G and some budget Transsion phones with flat OLEDs)

I beg hmd, don't do it! It's better to use Harmony OS than to use Android. Because your competitors are itel and infinix. You should be able to provide a very agile experience on cheap hardware with a very fresh UI. Never tell the chipset specifications clearly on the media. Just give the chipset a gimmick name, an example is Google tensor. The second is design. The design of the lumia 720 is the best ever on a phone. He is very minimalist, masculine and comfortable to hold, as well as without camera bumps. Unlike an iphone that is uncomfortable in the palm of the hand. But I salute, if hmd can bring ips screen without pwm, that would be an added selling point. I wish the next phone had symmetrical bezels, despite the ips screen. At least the forehead has the same width as the chin.
