They lack chips, they can't even fulfill the Chinese market needs. And it's pretty obvious Chinese support their own phones better than other people around the world. So until they can produce enough phones for global sales, they gonna stay in china

Since the days of the point and shoot compacts with moving lenses, we have come full circle then?? :p
Now don't get me wrong, I loved the little point and shoot cameras.
But on a smartphone which is now an everyday item and is subjected to much more accidental drops, it'll be interesting to see how this would survive in the real world.
I'm more bothered about the AI ability allowing to erase items from photos. Just imagine what they could do ( at least in their mainland) to photos painting them in a bad light. There were already reports of such photos being deleted remotely from user devices, without their knowledge! And now there's tech to erase items from photos.....Hmmmm

Huh.. Seems like based on early review, the main retractable lens will bring 27mm focal length.. And design in irl is really beautiful.. Really tempting to buy one and some even confirm that harmony 4.2 still work with gms installation.

What has happened to Huawei is unfair. They make top notch products, with premium materials.
But not having Google services is a huge compromise that ought to regulate their price tags.
There is a significant space before they start selling in loss, from super profits. They just had to adjust their policies. They are also excluded from top performance chips and forced to use older tech that produce by themselves. Therefore , they ought and can afford to much much lower starting prices, in order to compensate and yet they keep overpricing everything. This is just pathetic

They could just retool their phones a bit and sell the designs to another brand with 5G and possibly GMS. They already did that many times - using joint ventures and other companies (TD-Tech, Hi Nova, Maimang, FFalcon) to sell 5G phones in China before they brought back Kirin from the dead, and using Tinno Mobile's Wiko brand to push budget phones with GMS in the global market

I think Huawei is scared of any trouble with governments so instead their new global lineup consists of rebranded old budget phones while China gets all the cool stuff. Because as we all know, what people really want is another overpriced Android 10 powered Nova Y series phone and not a flagship!
