These will allegedly be leftover panels from the current-generation iPad Pro model.

So far those old iPad still can serve me well even it’s OS no longer be a new version but surprisingly still provide security update which I quite impressed. I think I will keep using it until Apple no longer provide security update. Been so long already and very impressed Apple make things to last long.

Stop using amoled, i own smartphone with amoled screen and have a shadow in it, amoled suck

YUKI93, 19 Apr 2024I'd love to see the difference between the two screen ... moreId like to see the difference in real time as well. I'm expecting miniled to be noticeably worse than oled but if it's not too much they might be worth it.

YUKI93, 19 Apr 2024I'd love to see the difference between the two screen ... moreOLED is great but need to be careful not to keep a still image in high brightness. As for LCD, you need to find a good panel, otherwise the colors might seem washed out, also LCDs aren't suitable to be used when in dark environments as you don't want to get blinded by the display. MiniLED might be something good, but haven't tried it. I guess it operates by having individual LEDs as backlights and can get brighter than OLED, but still they can't have as vivid colors as OLED and don't have deep blacks. Seems it's still the same LCD/LED technology made for having sharper images for big resolutions. You can compare it through searching on web and you'll find it for yourself. Hope it helps

ikek, 19 Apr 2024Also if someone here has used iPads for a long time, could ... moreHad an iPad mini 2 which used to work well for me. now I can't even download a thing cause it doesn't have support and also it lags terribly a lot. Using a Tab S6 and I don't feel any lack of support or performance drops as on the iPad mini. Samsung Galaxy Tab S recommended since they have decent specs and last longer.

YUKI93, 19 Apr 2024I'd love to see the difference between the two screen ... moreMiniLED has wider color gamut and higher brightness while AMOLED has higher contrast ratio (offer deep black) and lesser power consumption especially on dark theme.

kek, 19 Apr 2024Has been the standard for decades now and no one died. H... moreThis. I’ll take colour accuracy and sharpness at 60hz over cheap 120hz oversaturated panels any day. People on this website seem to forget that there’s more to computers than scrolling and gaming.

arthurmdy, 19 Apr 2024imagine 60hz on 13 inch display ☺If this next-gen iPad Air will recycle the same screen panel as the current-gen iPad Pro 12.9 2022, expect to see 120Hz here. But then again, Apple could surprise us.

I'd love to see the difference between the two screen panels in person. I see several claims about miniLED being the middle ground between OLED and IPS LCD, where you get OLED colours but with IPS LCD reliability. I'm not sure if it's true.

From need to carry multiple thing and heavy to work for laptop instead just 2 things for iPad, charger and Apple pencil with very lightweight.

When they first came out, they are fast, but as times go by, OS / App updates brings new features that demands more processing power, that's when you feel the lag.

iPad is no exceptions to this. But the good news is that since the M1 era they a beefy processor.. that is so good that it makes iPadOS features look like a toy. Ever since, its the OS that plays catch up, and iPad Pros rarely lags.

How is the flicker on this going to be?

Good like LCD (no flicker), or are we going back to unexplained headaches like the 90s?

After using an Android tablet (Exynos Tab S6 lite), I think I will wait and see what improvements and price the Air 11" brings.

If its good enough, I might buy one. But if its stil the same as always (meaning dumb iPad OS), then I will go for Tab S8.

I honestly cant believe how bad the Tab S6 lite has aged. Idk if its Samsung putting too much stuff on their skin or this Exynos is just painfully bad. I wonder if the A51 aged this bad honestly.

How bad for the mind is when people start picking "specs" out as if it were some videogame.

Theres more to a screen than just a refresh rate. Would you like to have a 240hz TN washed out screen or a solid 60hz 100% sRGB IPS black one? (Or AMOLED if you can tolerate PWM)

Apple gives so much love to their top end products (iPad Pro, iPhone Pro, MacBook Pro, etc) and they occasionally rollout those improvements to their midsized products (eg iPad Air, iPhone Plus, MacBook 15, etc). But they have a certain distain for their "small" products (eg iPhone Mini, iPad Mini, Mac Mini, etc).

C'mon Apple, give the iPad Mini some love. It's about 20% of your tablet sales, and our wallets are itchy :P
